    Thoughts o Mossberg MVP?

My grandson has the 24" version. I was a little reluctant to buy it but he was hooked on the looks/features. Turns out he was right. It functions well, shoots 55 and 60 grain Horn VMax and Sierra 55 gr SPBT VERY well. He keeps me busy reloading.

    Remington 660 in .243?

I had one of those for a number of years. (Wish I still had it. :banghead:) The one I had was very accurate and although it probably wasn't the best tool for for the job, I shot literally hundreds of prairie dogs with it. It also took a number of coyotes and white tail deer. I loved mine and...

Thinking of getting a Springfield Armory EMP 40

I've had an EMP .40 for a couple of years now. It seems there were some FTF problems with some of them early on, but mine has been flawless. The fit and finish looks like it came out of the Custom Shop and this little thing is a real shooter. Because it has a steel frame in .40, it's a little...

If you could have only one target Style 1911 what would it be?

I have a Dan Wesson Point Man 7. It is an excellent target gun and a great quality handgun overall - and mine is a rare one in .40 S&W. This thing shoots lights out and should be even better in .45 Auto. I wanted an accurate range gun in .40 S&W to use for testing my reloads and it turned out to...

S&W 380 body guard or Sig sauer P238

I haven't handled or shot the S&W Bodyguard. I've had a Sig P238 for some time and I'm very pleased with it. It replaced a Kel-Tec P3AT. IMO it is far superior to the Kel-Tec in every way. The trigger pull is heavy, but is a typical 1911 trigger. (I'm partial to 1911's) It breaks clean and has a...

"It's impossible to get a quality 1911 made in the USA for under $2,000"

Hmmm.... let's see. What 1911 can you buy for under 2K that is reliable. I have these, all were purchased for waaaay under 2K and all are reliable: Taurus PT1911 .45 acp (over 3K rounds without a problem) Springfield Range Officer .45 acp S&W E Series Bobtail Commander .45 acp S&W...

    Center Point scopes any good??

I've got 2 of these things. One came on a Crossman spring gun and I was pretty impressed with it. Yes...it's made in China and I'm not a big fan of Chinese merchandise. The thing is, it's pretty darn clear for a cheap scope and holds its zero well. I bought another one for an AR 15 with a...

    Compact .45?

I like this Para USA OPS. Steel frame so recoil isn't an issue. 100% reliable.

    Best Single-Stack 9 for CCW?

My first 1911 a Taurus PT 1911 SS

I bought the first blued PT1911 I could get my hands on. It has something over 1k rounds through it with zero malfunctions. When I am testing new .45 acp reloads, this is the one I use because it is so accurate.

    3" 1911s

Don't have a 3" .45, but have two 3.5" Para Ordnance models. One is the LDA single stack Black Watch Companion - the other is a single stack single action Ops. Both are reliable and amazingly accurate for short barreled 45s. I'm an old revolver guy, so I actually shoot the LDA version better.

What is the last gun that you bought?

Ruger KP345D - so new from the online auction, my dealer doesn't have it yet. I already have a KP345 but wanted the decock only model.

    Why does .40 S&W suck?

    But it don't suck It doesn't - I've got a 9, a 40 and a bunch of .45's. I like them all. (But the .45 is my favorite.)
