This is directed primarily to LEOs, but anyone with suggestions is welcome to speak up.
I am trying to get a patrol rifle program started in my department. I know there are many LEOs here. Has anyone been involved with the start up of a program or can get me information on starting one up...
I've used GA, GB and AA. I've had the best luck so far with GB but I haven't had any really bad experiences with the other two. GA does tend to be higher priced because it is not an auction. The prices there are essentially "Buy It Now" prices.
Personally I love the SP101 with your favorite 357 loads. Unfortunately Colt made the absolute best snubby ever for exactly 1 year. The Magnun Carry was a 6 shot 357magnot much wider that the SP101. You used to be able to find them for 400, but now people are advertising them as rare and...
I'll agree that all are good revolvers. The GP100 is probably the toughest and most durable. The Smith is high quality. The Taurus is also very nice. I have shot the Smith and the GP100. I liked the trigger on the GP100 better than the Smith. It also fit my hand better. As for the Taurus, I have...
My issue gun is a SW99 and I previously owned another SW99.Neither of mine had the play in the slide you mention. After reading your post I checked with other officers on my shift and none of them report the problems you have with yours. Is yours a Walther P99 or a S&W SW99? My understanding is...
I've carried my SP101 for years as an on duty back-up. Unfortunately the ammunition it liked the best were Nyclads. Although it now tends to be loaded with Silvertips. I have the Hogue Monogrip on mine. The front sight has had an orange plastic insert installed. It has also had a trigger job and...
I have a CZ52 and love it. Aftermarket parts are available from makarov.com. They have replacement firing pin set ups that remarkably improve the trigger. You can also replace the grips with wood ones. I have also seen CZ52s with larger modern sights installed. I painted my front sight and it...
My personal belief is that you should carry as much gun as you can control and conceal. 45ACP has a better track record than 9mm. With practice it is a very accurate round. But 45s are, in general, large handguns. 9mm is easier to conceal. Easier to be accurate with. and cheaper to practice...
Euroarms copy of a Colt 1851 Navy revolver but in 44 caliber, with holster $35.00. I picked it up at a pawn shop as a cheap way to see if I liked black powder. Still have it and enjoy shooting it. Not very accurate but a lot of fun.:o
I disagree with the idea that guns are made to destroy. They are tools plain and simple. It is the mind behind them that controls what they are used for. In the hands of law enforcement, they preserve the peace and protect lives. In the hands of our military they defend our freedoms from outside...
