Check cableas sales they sometimes have good deals on 30-06 this time of year. I got a model 700 sps from them during a sale.

I use a 30-06 its the only center fire rifle I own. I figured I would get the most versatile caliber I could since it may be the only one I own for a while and may get a chance to go out west.

Just an update. I tried some pyrodex this weekend and I am still having the same issue seating the second shot. I spoke to some people at the range also shooting Encore Pro Hunters and they both said they swab after each shot. Seems like a pain. I am going to call Thompson and see what they say.

I have a limbsaver on my 30_06 and my 11- 87 they work great.

I have only been hunting a few years and I only have one non-muzzle loading deer rifle. I love it and it shoots well even with me behind the trigger 700 sps 30-06 with Leupold 3x9 VxII I love it and I got it on sale. I think the scope ended up costing as much as the gun.

I just got into Muzzle Loading and it is a great deal of fun. I started on the higher end but I think starting on the lower end sounds like a better idea. I am happy with what I got but not sure if I am skilled enough yet to really appreciate it. That value of moving up the ladder is worth alot...
