My Dad gave this to me before he died.

A 1927 W.W. Greener 12 bore which he repatriated in 1945 from a tunnel connecting shore batteries in Yokosuka Harbor. He was leading a landing party from the cruiser HMS Newfoundland to accept the surrender of the battery and secure it from those who may not have gotten the word.

The Captain told them to bring back everything they could carry...mainly saki, swords, and guns.

Stoeger Condor Supreme

Love the look of the over/under models in 12Gauge. Especially the Stoeger Condor Supreme

"A 1927 W.W. Greener 12 bore"

Now that is one fine shotgun.

You should forward your post and pics to Greener for the heck of it. Give them the serial number and maybe they can tell you where it was originally shipped.

"Alternatively customers can contact us by telephone, fax or e-mail and we will try to answer any questions. Please note that many guns made before 1925 are proved for black powder cartridges only. We offer to inspect these guns and advise on their suitability for re-proof for nitro loads."

Still the champ I think.

Practicality aside in terms of weight, etc., I still think this is the most  shotgun design ever.

Very very neat, thanks.

MC Gunner, I wonder if you put two snap caps in two of those adjacent cylinders, whether it would then be legal for taking game - would still be "capable of accepting or shooting more than 3 rounds"? :p

Lucky, that is seriously cool.

[Since two people mentioned it: Since when is the Stoeger the pinnacle of O/U gunmaking? :scrutiny: I'm sorry, but it ain't even close.]

"Since when is the Stoeger the pinnacle of O/U gunmaking?"

The closest they ever came was probably back in the '60s when they imported some Spanish shotguns of unknown origin. :)

Then they were bought out by Sako in the '90s and Sako was bought out by Beretta in 2000 and now it's all one big happy family I suppose.

Not saying they are... Just that I want one of those and that as far as looks go I think it's cool -- that was what this thread was about, right? Everybody has their own aesthetic preferences. Mine happen to run somewhere along the lines of that shotgun. That's all. :) I don't have money to spend on a really, really nice one -- nor would I if I did. Got other more pressing necessities.

Favorite Looking shotgun......

Still the Stoeger Condor Supreme. Its hard to deny Love at first sight. Its a Champayne look on a beer budget. I will own one someday. Yesterday I made a more practical purchase for Home Defense, A Mossberg 500 Persauder/cruiser 8 shot 20 inch barrel. Accessories to follow.

I love my 2 Saigas (1 "converted", 1 not) and older Benelli M1, but since we're talking looks...

Without even having one, I have to side with the "coach gun" crowd - there is something about a properly-proportioned, unadorned SxS that seems, to me, every bit as elegant as a long, high-end over&under. The man who posted one of the first pictures in the thread, of that model 311 (?), has it right.

As an aside - I think drillings are pretty wild and great looking, too.

Win 1897 trench gun. Discontinued 60 years ago; Norinco makes a cheap copy but I am tempted. Brendon Frazer used one in "The Mummy".

When I was a kid, one of my favorite toy guns was a pump action with external hammer. I don't know if it was supposed to be a shotgun or rifle or generic, but regardless, I still have a soft spot / fond memory of this combination. :)
