Vector Arms vs. Lancaster Consulting vs. Arsenal, Inc. AK clones

I almost purchased an Arsenal for about $1200. Craftsmanship is great, and you're paying for a tighter, more polished gun, but you're not guaranteed a great shooter (as with ANY AK purchase). Just something to keep in mind. I came across a great deal for a WASR-10 that I was able to look...

    AES-10B - 1st post

I just picked one up last week for $400. Came with both a 30 and 40 round mag. Mine shoots very well. These AES-10B's are great deals IMHO. You can't go wrong with this rifle, unless you get a dud. I may pick up another one at this price.

    Rock River Arms Review?

Tim, do you have a scope riser on your Varmint? Did you get the A4 or EOP? I've got a 20" A4 on order.

    Rock River Arms Review?

FL2AK, on your RRA with the Eotech, is that a YHM/RRA rail? Which sights are those? Nice rifles.

Painting Front Bead Sight On 870 Express

I would like to paint the front bead something that would be somewhat visible at night? Any suggestions on something that would last in the long run?

    XD-45 Finish: Wear

The point was that if that's how it looks after ONLY 150 rounds, I wonder what it's going to look like after 5,000. It seems premature, compared to my Glock which, though still new, has probably 2,500 rounds through it and doesn't have anywhere near as much wear as the XD-45. Again, I know...

    XD-45 Finish: Wear

Regarding rust or failures, point taken. I just tend to be a stickler about a new gun that shows wear marks after only 150 rounds. Here are a few pics, as promised. And some eye bling...

    XD-45 Finish: Wear

I recently picked up an XD-45 and put 150 round through it. Upon cleaning and closer inspection, I noticed that some of the internal finishes are showing some of the shiny metal underneath the finish. The top of the receiver is also wearing. It is minimal but enough to notice up close. I...

What is the last gun that you bought?

Just picked up an XD-45 Tactical and 3 mags. Still getting used to what I feel is a somewhat mushy trigger. It's dead accurate out of the box and is very comfortable to shoot.

    Remington 870 Modifications

I recently picked this up. It's an 870 Express Magnum that came with 18.5" barrel, 6-cap mag, Butler Creek pistol grip w/ folding stock. I put a Limbsaver on it and trimmed out some of the rubber for a more custom fit. I also have inexpensive red dot scope on it and will be adding a tactical...

Shotguns: safe to keep one in the chamber?

Empty chamber here. I also have an IR (Infra-red) remote taped to my 870's stock. This controls my whole house audio system. One push of "play" and a pre-recorded string (Track #1 "Rack 'n Roll Blues") of an 870 being racked is fed, at high volume, through 13 pairs of speakers... some reverb...

Rem. 700sps tac. vs. Savage 10fp

Recently I was deciding between a Savage 111 and Remington 700 SPS. The Remington was only $30 more. So I bought it... mainly due to a most of the positive reasons stated so far. The biggest drawback (for me) so far, is the stock. Excessive flex. Get worse if you don't let your barrel cool...

    Yet Another Spotting Scope Thread

Optics are VERY important. Especially with scopes on your weapon. My personal favorite, and minimal recommendations would be anything from the Bushnell Elite line.

Shotgun for Home Defense. Pump vs. Auto - your opinion.

This is what I use for HD. It's an 18", 6+1 capacity. Bought it new for $365 w/ pistol grip and folding stock.

    Remington 700 sps

I just purchased one in 30-06. Took it to the 100-yard range and put 16 rounds through it. Since I am inexperienced in this caliber, I spent most of the time getting acquinted with the rifle and recoil - so no data yet. I matted it with a Leupold VXII 3-9x40 and a Harris bipod.
