Hello all this is my first post so show me some love. I have a chance to buy an aes-10b from a local shop for $385.20 out the door. 1) is that a good deal 2) how do you think it will hold or increase in value 3) is this rifle worth a damn or is it a wasr 10 type "value".

I have been reading the threads here for a while and thought now would be a good time to join in.

Good rifle. Good price. It's a true RPK not like the original AES-10 rifles that were long barrel WASRs. I hear nothing but good things on the B rifles and looked for one at the show yesterday but didn't see one.

Good price. Just make sure it has the thick barrel not a thin one. And it may be worth refinishing the stock down the road to clean her up a bit.

I recently bought an AES-10B. It's an absolutely excellent rifle and I can't think of really anything bad about this rifle.

It's an RPK, plain and simple.

I'm still not sure I am going to buy it. I see that a lot of online retailers have sold out. I own several ak rifles and I am trying hard to justify buying it. I'm am afraid of it not retaining it's worth. I don't think that the 1 WASR I have is going to be worth much down the road.

Retaining its worth? Sub $400 guns that are sold out everywhere don't go down in value. Besides who cares how much its worth down the road, buy it if you think you will enjoy it.

Going to be far fewer of those AES-10Bs than WASRs out there.

Going to be fewer of both of them now since the factory that made them is closing down to become an auto parts factory! WASR's and all other Romanian rifles are definitely going to be going up now since the supply is done with.

Thank you nalioth! My heart always sinks when I hear this rumor but then someone comes along and reminds me its not true.:p

Yes let's not spread this any further. The worst part of the classicarms story is he says "Romania is trying to get into NATO...." Last time I checked they were in by March 2004.

The Romanians are making a huge profit selling cheap WASRs to the U.S., there is no reason they would cease on their own.

It has already been established this was a classicarms tactic to create panic buying. :uhoh:

Membership went on expanding with the accession of seven more Northern European and Eastern European countries to NATO: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (see Baltic Air Policing) and also Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Romania. They were first invited to start talks of membership during the 2002 Prague Summit, and joined NATO on 29 March 2004, shortly before the 2004 Istanbul Summit.

Well I bought it . Well it's on layaway with $0 down on it. I should have it in my hands in a month . It looks like it will be a fun rifle. I just hate the bi pod on it. It doesn't fold back and if I understand correctly it wasn't designed for that firearm. Does anyone know if I can get a nhm-91 bi pod to fit it? and where I could buy it (outside of gunbroker)

On a separate note I love this forum I wish I would have joined earlier. Thank you to all who have replied and for talking me into it. I need another hobby I'm running out of room(and money). I don't know why I love communist block weapons so much. Now I just need a psl and a yugo m70b. If you would like to contribute to the fund let me know I will be your friend for ever.

Au contraire, mon ami. That is a current issue RPK in every way but the receiver. The bipod does fold up and lock in the stowed position.

really? The one I just put up the bipod would fold together but would not fold up towards the barrel . I was told that that the bipod went to a RPD and century just threw it on there?

I am on several AK boards and have not heard one complaint about the 'bipod not folding'.

The boys sing the praises of the AES-10B as "the closest you can get to a real RPK".

I just picked one up last week for $400. Came with both a 30 and 40 round mag. Mine shoots very well. These AES-10B's are great deals IMHO. You can't go wrong with this rifle, unless you get a dud.

I may pick up another one at this price.

Yeah....I have a couple and they do shoot better/tighter than a standard AK.

Mine's pretty good.

I had it parkerized and switched out the PKM bipod for a RPK bipod. Redid the dry wood with tung oil.

They are nice rifles!

I regret not buying one when they were $399 back in september from j&g sales and were in stock and ready to ship. they are hitting a minimum of $550 on gunbroker.
