These Colts are just back from the engraver. They are a 1917 and an Army Special in .41 Long Colt which has been Fitzed. This ends an almost three year project. Some additional mechanical work will need to be done by Dave Chicoine in the future.

The Brooks mould being made for you will produce a .72 caliber conical like the one in the center of the photo. To the left is a .58 caliber REAL bullet and to the right is a Four Bore bullet for size comparison.
My second old Colt this week arrived today via big brown truck. A Colt Army Special in .41 Long Colt. It's been reblued sometime in the past but is in very good condition gripwise and the bore is almost perfect. I really like these old double action Colts.
This was a Gunbroker purchase around a year back, it came with a 6 inch barrel that was bulged just behind the front site. With very good luck I was able to find an unused 5 inch barrel from a member of the S&W Forum, resulting in the beauty you see here. The 5 inch barrel makes the 2nd model HE...
Has anyone ever seen one of these before. I don't recall ever seeing an H&R 922 with such a short barrel. Is this Factory or cut down.

Found this nice conditioned Colt New Service in 38-40 at a local gunshop. Serial number dates it to 1923. Took her to the range today and had a blast, my first time shooting a 38-40 wich was almost magnum like in performance in a revolver. This is going to be a fun one to play with.
A gunsmith friend and I buy and sell guns at gunshows. I would like to know what revolvers and auto pistols you like to see on the table at gunshows you attend, please list your top five.

My latest GunBroker purchase, and my third Pre war Official Police in the last year. I love these pre war Colt's. Try to find this kind of quality today. Serial number dates it to 1940, it has a mint bore and perfect mechanics. The only negative is someone electric pencilled GR583 on the left...
Found this reblued pre war Heavy Duty in a for sale add in the local paper. Has some miner pitting on the exterior, but is in great condition otherwise. Should make a excellent range gun.
Picked up this sweet little Colt Official Police at a gun show a few weeks back. Serial number dates it to 1949. Has been reblued some time in it's past. Shot it last weekend and was very happy with the results.:) If you have one I'd like to see it.
Hello all, just got some pics of my new Pre War Colt Official Police. Made in 1932 or 1933. This was a Gunbroker purchase, and as you can see, is in excellent condition.
Here are some pics of my latest Smith, a pre war nickel 38/44.
Factory refinish some time in it's past. Has a star on the butt
next to the serial number indicating factory return for work. Non
original grips are it's only flaw.
Thought I'd share some pics of my Official Police. Got this one a few months back from a guy on the S&W forum.Bit of a beater on the outside, but shoots like a dream. You can not beat pre war revolvers for fit and finish.
