    IDPA Loads

I keep Unique, Titegroup and Bullseye on hand but if there is another that works better I am all for keeping a little around. Just now getting into IDPA so whatever load combination I come up with will be my primary reloading effort for both pistols.

    IDPA Loads

Hey guys - not sure if this should have went here or in competition shooting but since it deals with reloading here it is. I am looking for a starting point (trying to save time, powder and primers) for both 9mm and 45 ACP loads that will make the PF in IDPA. Just seein if anyone has any...

    Tokerav TT3

I understand that the TT3 was made at several different locations. Can anyone tell by looking at the attached picture where this one was manufactured?

How Many Know That You Carry? What Do You Say?

Only family and a few close friends, the friends are only because they carry as well. Other than that its no ones business.

    What do you carry

The first thing the Army teaches us in Combatitives is that the winner is the one whose buddy shows up with a gun first!

    .270 Win loads

Unless you are just stuck on the 140 gr bullets try the 130 gr. My favorite load is using a sierra 130 gr SPBT, CCI Large rifle magnum primer and 58.4 gr IMR 7828SSC. It gives me close to 3000 fps. Not quite as fast as you seem to want but the accuracy is great. I have taken quite a few...

    Military 9mm Powder

According to my TM (Army Ammunition Data Sheets) the powder the military uses for M882 9MM is listed as HPC 26. I kinda thought that this may be Hodgens but the powder is not listed. Does anyone have any idea what the commercial equivalent is. The listed data in the TM is Powder - HPC 26...

    Situational Awareness?

Trust your instincts, even the most untrained persons body seems to somehow know something is not right even if your conscious mind does not register that fact right away. After a tour in Afghanistan and a tour in Iraq I have found that somehow you know something is "just not right". When you...

    Squirrels with a 12 gauge ???

Been using a shotgun for squirrels since I was old enough to hunt them (mid 1960's). Nothing smaller than a #6 for sure with a full choke, myself I prefer #4 shot. Down here in Louisiana we have some pretty tall pines and cypress so I usually keep some magnums in my vest. I quit the shotgun as...

    Turkey Hunting with a rifle?

Can't hunt turkey with a rifle down here in Louisiana but; I did get to make a turkey hunt in South Dakota this past year. Used a .17HMR w/a 6.5x20 scope and it did really well. Although every time I pulled the trigger I was looking for the game warden, LOL...........

Have you ever been shot at or threatened with a gun?

Outside of Iraq and Afghanistan only once. Had a drunk guy pull a POS .25on me one night. He was pretty toasted and I was not, easily disarmed the guy, sad thing about it was that the security (bouncers) watched the guy and didnt bother to help out til I had the gun, LOL.

Hypothetical (inspired by "Survivorman"): Which gun would you choose?

Big gun = heavy bullets = the less you can carry. Small gun = light bullets = the more you can carry. In a survival situation the weight you have to carry along with the stress, how much food you are able to find and how far you have to go to find civilization are probably more important...

Since my wife stole my pistol...

If your not stuck on the 9mm take a look at the Ruger P345. I have a Beretta 92FS, Ruger P89 and the P345. Recoil is very mild, slim design (I use it as CCW daily), very accurate, and most of all very affordable well under your limit. I have yet to experience a malfunction in over 2k rounds thru...

    Home defense hypothetical

The minute the intruder steps into my house he has approximately 75 feet to decide to leave!!! That is the distance I can retreat til I run out of house. When in my house I am never over 10-15 feet from a firearm, retreating is only to give the intruder a chance to see I am armed, my sight is on...

    1861 MKII Snider

While in Afghanistan I picked up the subject rifle. Stamps on barrell and side plates match, barrel is in fair condition, minimal rust pits and the wood is in good condition. The breech is smooth and appears to lock tite. Has anyone had any experience with one of these. It is .577 caliber, it is...
