Hey guys - not sure if this should have went here or in competition shooting but since it deals with reloading here it is.

I am looking for a starting point (trying to save time, powder and primers) for both 9mm and 45 ACP loads that will make the PF in IDPA. Just seein if anyone has any favorite loads they would like to share. Pistols will be a Beretta 92FS and Ruger P345.

Do you have some reasonably suitable pistol powder on hand?
No sense in listing loads that would require you to rush out and buy Brand X if you have some Brand Y that will serve as well.

I keep Unique, Titegroup and Bullseye on hand but if there is another that works better I am all for keeping a little around. Just now getting into IDPA so whatever load combination I come up with will be my primary reloading effort for both pistols.

I wish I could help but I shoot 38 super. My Idea is go for minimum power factor + 50 fps just for a sefety margin.

I haven't done anything with Bull or Unique in years. I went through a can of Titegroup and can say:

.45ACP in 5" Gov't Models

230 gr Magtech FMJ + 4.4 gr TG = 749 fps PF 172
230 gr Star..... FMJ + 4.4 gr TG = 775 fps PF 178*
230 gr LRN......... + 4.1 gr TG = 744 fps PF 171

200 gr SWC.......... + 4.8 gr TG = 853 fps PF 170

*Note the effect of a different bullet of a little different diameter and seating depth. Also a different primer.

9mm P in 4.5" barrel

115 gr R-P JHP + 4.7 gr TG = 1215 fps PF 139
145 gr Val. LRN + 3.5 gr TG = 971 fps PF 140
147 gr Precision + 3.5 gr TG = 956 fps PF 140

This was the only series I shot with TG in 9mm. I'd reduce the loads a little to get the Power Factor down to about 131.

my favorite titegroup load is
4.4 gr titegroup and a bear creek 200gr simiwadcutter molly coated. It is the best shooting and most accurate load I have tried in a kimber custom and a wilson cqb.
