Keep in mind, my covers are not recoil pads. I would put a nice recoil pad on it and then I can make a nice cover and sling to cover it up and match to accent your rifle with some cartridges on the side of the cover.

35 Rem. packs a better whallop and less expensive to get than 38-55. I reload and cast my own bullets so my Marlin 93 in 38-55 is not expensive to reload for.

Under your circumstances, I would invest in descicant bags and wipe my guns down with a light coat of oil once a month, just to make sure. Also make sure you keep the door to the safe closed as much as possible.
