shoulder holster I use a shouder holster regularly when driving. Keeps the gun off the seat belt and available for drawing. I am a big guy and carry a big gun (big enough to do the job the first time) here in Macon, Ga which is becoming a murder and carjacking capital of Georgia and maybe the...

    M1 carbine for hog hunting?

Hogs in Georgia Interesting talk about wild hogs. Yes, they can be killed with a .22. I have friends that do it regularly but almost all say use the biggest gun you can handle. The feral hogs in Georgia are BIG. Remember Hogzilla? Four, five and six hundred pounders are not unknown...

Ammo Shortage merged threads, aka UberUltraMasterAmmoThreadOfPower

Clifton Clowers "I don't care about Clifton Clower, this mountain's mine now." That's funny! But did you know that the Waycross, Georgia mentioned in the song is several hundred miles from any mountain and it is located on flat palmetto country near the swamp? Now I will say that the...

It's no wonder I can't find any primers

Primerrs I could buy primers by the thousands a few weeks ago at A-Z Guns in Macon. This week, they had a limit of 350 primers (total of all types) to a customer. Don't know how they broke out the 50 count though. Most of the selections were already gone. Good selection of powder though.

    Case polishing solution

Nu-finish works great. I also found that dirty cases will benefit a lot from a dash of rubbing alcohol splashed into the media about a minute before you dump in the brass will give excellent results.

    S&W M&P Pre-Model 10 Price Check

I picked up a five screw 6" bbl, pre-model 10 (M&P) which had been carried by an Eastman, Georgia policeman from Crazy Tim's Pawn shop for $150. Hardly any bluing but it had almost never been shot. All matching serial numbers including the stocks. It is a carry gun for me, smooth as silk...

Outrageously Great Deals on a Gun Purchase ... post your story!

Gone are the days 1. In Canada you must have a Federal License to own, transpor or sell a pistol. One friend inherited a like new 1911 and did not want to keep it. I was young and ignorant but when he said "How about $1 a caliber? Let's see, hmmm that's $45." So I found his offer...

    Jennings J-22 oppinions for wife

Lots of good comments why the Jennings is NOT a self defense gun. My Hungarian Walther look alike (commonly called a Hungarian Mac) is totally reliable, harder hitting than a .380 and very accurate. The alloy frame makes it light weight for carrying. 9mm Luger = 9x 19. Makarov = 9X18. and...

Gun Shows...This is not a gun show bashing thread

I go because it is part of the hobby to keep up to date. Some of the displays are like going to a museam. You never see anyone actually shoot some of the stuff. Also, there is the occasional (and I mean occasional) find at a dealer table. The best deals I have found are at the private owner...

    favorite powder for .38?

double charge with Bullseye I have shot a lot of Bullseye. You can double charge a .38 case with it BUT if you visually check every batch in the loading block AFTER charging 100% of the time you will be OK. The only double charge in .38 for me happened in 1965. A Fench buddy and I loaded...

My buddy Johnny in Monroe County Georgia bought a new Win 94 and one box of ammo. He had his own property and his goal was to get the first deer of the year with one shot. He was going to retire the rifle when he had his 20 deer. He made it to 18 and then some xxxxx stole his guns! (He did...

Are Georgia Firearms Licenses public record?

You do not need a permit to purchase a gun in Georgia. But , if you buy from an FFL holder, you must still run through the "background check" loop OR have a Georgia Firearms License which will exempt you from the background check. To buy from a private seller: see the gun, dicker on the price...
