    3" Model 66 - should I?

Looking in the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson, the only 3" 66's listed were: 1. A run for RSR in 1996, with ported bbl and round butt frame. 2. The "Super K" with a "specially contoured barrel" (whatever that means), ported, with white grips and trigger stop...

    Molon what?

Another quote from the same battle that I love...When told that the Persians had so many archers that their arrows blocked out the sun, a Spartan replied, "Good, then we can fight in the shade."

For those of us that have always thought those Air Force guys were a bit sissy

IIRC during WWII b-24's in Libya and Eqypt were painted "sand pink". It was reported to be extremely effective. The B-24's that took part in the Poesti raid were painted this color.

    Sniper 2 movie

I missed the part where the German WWi sniper rifle morphed into a Moisin/Nagant sniper rifle. Must have been a neat trick.

    Taurus vs. Smith & Wesson

I have never owned a Taurus, but have fired several owned by friends. I found them to be good serviceable revolvers (have no experience with their semis). They are priced great too. I have always been a Smith revolver fan, and still am, but if there was a caliber revolver I wanted and taurus...

    interesting comparison

What do Los Angeles, Chicago and New York all have in common for 2003? All three had at least 200 more people murdered than we had GIs killed in Iraq, while each death's in Iraq is reported on a daily basis, Iraq really is much safer than any of the above US cities. Total murdered in...

Here we go again. Hooters bans CHL .

here's an e-mail I sent to Mr. Gesser... Mr. Gessner, I have become aware of the policy of your chain of resturants to refuse service to those patrons carrying concealed firearms. I am sure that this decision was made with the best of intentions. Please advise me if the information I have...

If sawed off SG were not AOW (this is a carry topic)

I don't think it would be practical to carry, for reasons so well discussed above. However, i think it would make a great truck weapon or house weapon, nor to mention as a SHTF weapon.

World War II: Who Fought Where

IIRC, the USMC had little involvement in the ETO. There were several Army divisions in the Pacific. The majority under MacArthur's command, but several under Nimitz as well. The ANZAC troops served in North Africa and in Europe. In fact one of the reasons US troops predominated in the...

    Whoops!

Actually, the gender didn't even enter into it with me. Being stupid seems to rather non-gender specfic, in my experience. The problem I saw was having a finger on the trigger. But that's me.

" OK, I know there was some rule about finger on the trigger, or was it off the trigger, or was that Roy Rogers horse...I don't know what to do...Oh,s**t... sorry 'bout that." http://www.policeone.com/video/incident.mpeg You may have to Cut & Paste the link.

WHy do they even go to the range?

Went to the range today. Playing with my new FAL (shot great, thank you). The guy two positions from me is sighting in his scoped rifle when his cell phone goes off. Ok, I can live with that, porbably an important guy. He then proceeds to hold his conversation seated at the shooting line...

Gee whiz, gosh..did some looking in the dictionary, and... CIVILIAN -n. person not in the armed services or police force. -adj. of or for civilians. But what is really interesting is... CITIZEN -n. 1 member of a State, either native or naturalized. 2 inhabitant of a city. 3 US...
