I have a crack in the wrist of my 03A3 stock. It's .020 wide at the tang to barely discenabble 2 inches later and does not reach the comb. Any advice on repairing this and preventing it from continuing? There's talcum powder dusted on the stock in the pic to highlight the crack.

How can I remove the rear sight U from a 1903A3? It appears to be dovetailed. slid in from the left side then pinned or peened on the right. I was considering grinding a bit at the peen and trying to drift it off. I'm not sure how it's held in place though and am afraid of boogering it up...
