Cut .357 to Short Colt length?

Thanks for all of the reply Thanks for all the efforts to try and find a solution. I figured that unless I wanted to buy a high end cutter, trimmer, etc. I'd be better to suck it up and order the Starline brass.......will try them out in the moons I've got or suck it up and order the Hearthco...

Cut .357 to Short Colt length?

38 s&w That sounds logical but here's what I found on an earlier thread. 4v50 Gary September 15th, 2003, 06:05 PM You know, that shorty bullet that you can cut down a 38 Special to fit into. Was told at a gunshop today that it was all the rage back in the early days before the 38 Special...

Cut .357 to Short Colt length?

"Making .38 Short Colt out of .357 Mag? There is big differance. .754" vis 1.290" That will take an awful lot of cranking with a L.E. Wilson, or any other manually operated case trimmer. An RCBS trim die would speed things up, but they ain't cheap!" It looks like this would become a...

Cut .357 to Short Colt length?

38's or 357's I was asking about 357 since a, I've got a lot and b. I saw a thread in the Brian Enos forum where a guy used .357. Can't get a reply from him. I'm willing to experiment but was wondering of the LE Wilson trimmer was a good tool to use. It's a trimmer.......on sale at Midway...

Cut .357 to Short Colt length?

I can't seem to find enough Remington 38 short colt brass. Starline is pricey and I'd need new moon clips. I'd sure like to find a way to trim .357s down to Short Cot length. LE Wilson has a case trimmer that people rave about. Is that the way to go or is there a better alternative...

Powder for Moly 45acp Billy Bullets

I'm going to try some Moly coated bullets (Billy Bullets). I'm shooting Steel Challenge out of a XD45acp compact. Unless someone suggests better priorities, mine are Accuracy, clean burning for minimum cleanup and light recoil. I've been searching the forum for several hours and can't seem...

    Ebay

Let's get the Government involved to fix it. Geez guys. What happened to capitalism. If their price is to high, buy it elsewhere. Who should regulate these sellers........or maybe ...who should regulate you as a seller and you want top dollar for what you've got. Supply and demand has...

Time for a debate or "Can of Worms" 38's in a 357

For Competion Competitive shooters use 38's in their K frame Smiths Model 19 and 66 have won lots of championships. Here's why. When you eject 38's out of a 357, they pop right out because of the shorter case. This provides faster reloads for timed competition.......Get it? The slightly...

Using 38 load data in a 357 case

I'm trying to develop a good load for shooting IDPA which requires a 125,000 power factor. I'm shooting a Model 19, 357 mag, 4" barrel, 158 LRNFP, 19 Brinnel rated. Can I use 38 load data in a 357 case to achieve. 1. Less recoil for better accuracy 2 Less fouling in the revolver. 3...

SDB Binding Update Problem solved. I called Dillon and they walked me thru removing the bushings and lubricating as well as applying grease to all four corners of the lower assembly. Thanks for your advice. I also need to look at that alignment of the feeder. Thanks

    The 686

Ammo choices I'm new to reloading and wonder if it would be better to shoot a lite load 357 than a 38 standard. I keep hearing that excessive use of 38 spcl will lead up the gun. I like LSWC or Lead Flat point. Anyone else have experince with this. What loads to you use. Thanks Joe

    45 cal lead bullets

Grizz2, I'm a newbie and don't understand your post. "Match your bullet to the pressure and velocity you are shooting and there will be minimal to no leading. That is far easier than scrubbing out lead." Please explain. Thanks......Joe

    New Loader Brass Question

Nickel was a mistake I bought some once fired Nickel.........cause it looked pretty vs dull brass. I'm relatively new at loading and just finished 900 rounds over a period of several days. I bought nickel "once fired" and reloaded about 500 rounds. The 400 were my own brass "once fired"...

Mathematical Formula So, part of the original question was "Is there a mathmatical formula used to adapt a powder for the different bullet compositions?" Is there. How do you adjust if you must?
