I could probably find this in a post somewhere if I hunted long enough, but I would appreciate your thoughts on the best value in jacketed .45 caliber projectiles for .45 Auto applications. Obviously the more you buy the better the value . . . but I think around 5000 would be the most I would...
I am using a Hornady LNL and I am having a problem with my small primer feed system. I have loaded several thousand rounds of large primer ammo without this problem. It appears when I reach the top of the stroke and the primer slide is fully extended (the point at which the primer drops into...
I apologize if this has been discussed ad nauseum elsewhere. Any thoughts about the relative value of these two firearms? It is hard to figure out how to compare these two guns, but my general sense is that Springfield costs a bit more ($100-$200) for comparable characteristics.
My only...
I suspect the answer is no since the case has a diameter of .451, but I like to ask stupid questions.
I ask because I have been using a 230 grain round for bowling pins, which poops out when the pins get full of lead and wont carry the pin off the table. I would like to try a heavier round...
I must give credit where credit is due. You were absolutely correct RCModel, I must have been hallucinating. It is a 625-6, the firing pin was slightly rotated not allowing the firing pin retaining pin to drop, and it is all better now. Thanks for taking the time to set me straight.
Oops, I see you linked me to 625-6. No it is definitely a 626-6. I can only find a very few references to a 626 on the web at all. Your comment about the pin sounds right though, I do recall seeing a flat along the pin so I'm sure that is what happened. Weird that the schematics jump from...
I have a 626-6 in 45 ACP I just bought used. I had the pistol disassembled with the side plate removed and (in retrospect stupidly) I dry fired the weapon to see the internal function without a snap cap in place. Out popped what appeared to be a small post which I believe was probably a...
I am sure these items can be found elsewhere so forgive what is likely a repetitive post. I have just set up my Hornady LNL AP and have a few problems.
1) When I get to the bottom of the lever pull, there is a little resistance and then a "clunk" as the lever arm finishes the stroke. This...
I have looked around and don't find a post on this topic, sorry if I am wrong. Looking for a list of online sources for powder, primers and projectiles (aside from the obvious like MidwayUSA, Cabelas, etc). Mom & Pop shops would be great too. Thanks.
As a follow up, I took the advice to write the ATF again and ask for a status. Less than a week later my C&R showed up in the mail! Thanks again for the excellent advice!
Embarrassing thing to admit, but back in the days of my foolish youth I was arrested once for what is termed in my state a "simple assault". Never convicted for anything, dealt with the matter appropriately and quickly, and it happened over ten years ago. I applied for my C&R in early August...
