I may spring for one in a few months. I prefer the lee enfield to the mosin and the scope is pretty reasonable for what it is. A scoped Gibbs 1903 runs 11-1200, and a mosin sniper around 600...this seems as good as any for a retro sniper rig.

I have recently completed my long range precision setup. I bought an ADL from Academy in 308 for 379, had a Sendero profile heavy barrel installed, had the action trued, then bedded in a Bell and Carlson light tactical stock with the AICS magazine system running through a CDI trigger guard, etc...

Also, you can always put some offset irons with the 3-18, or a Trijicon RMR on top or on the side, or even in an offset mount for a minimal handling reduction.

I know you can make shots out to 600 with a 1-6x, but offhand would be difficult. It's well night impossible to make an offhand shot at any distance with an 18x. If you ever want to shoot longer than 600, I would want the higher magnification, and 3x is perfectly shootable at 100 yards offhand...

Many 16 inch barrels come with a 7 in or 9-10 in rail, depending on the gas system. I personally have a Midwest Industries 12 in on mine. I wanted a longer handguard because I am 6' 6'' and I needed more real estate for my long arms to run it the way I wanted to. I needed to free float as well...
