Can I just ship it in the original crate (w/ the proper ORM-D stickers)it came in (2160 rounds of 5.45 in a wooden crate screwed shut with steel bands) or do I have to put the crate in a box if I want them to pick it up at my house?

    Dehumidifier for safe?

Alrighty, I finally have a safe on the way (Diamond Back ZDB-40H...Thanks Frank!). Now, since I'm in MD and we have horrendously humid summers, I figure I should get a dehumidifier. So, are the "Golden Rod" the standard? Are they safe? How about dessicant packs? Do they do a good job...

Vulcan Safes from United Safes Corporation?

So I'm down to three finalists. I figure I could use a model that will hold 24 rifles, but I know to buy a size that gives me room to grow. I realize that it seems that each safe has strengths and weaknesses, but what would you all think is the best "bang for the buck"? I noticed that the...

In this corner the Savage Scout, In this corner, the Ruger Frontier.

Instead of dumping a fair amount of cash into a platform you haven't really tried yet, do this; buy a Mosin M44 carbine, and mount a scope "scout style" to that. If it works for you, then proceed with the scout plan. If not, take the scope off, keep the M44 (a whopping $65-ish) and buy a...

    Best highend bolt action rifle

Among the .50s, I wouldn't consider them "high end". Popular, yes. But not as accurate or "high end" as others out there.

    high priced 1911s

The only cast part that NH mentions on their website is the frame on the Vickers model (a Caspian frame which he specified). NH grip safeties are forged. Ed Brown thumb safeties (which Liebenberg uses) are cast and work just fine.

    high priced 1911s

What is your source for this info? My NH has NO MIM (I Know it's not the same as investment cast). To the best of my knowledge, I do not know of anyone who makes a bar stock grip safety. Cast it fine for that part. Also, investment casting works just fine for Caspian. Heck, when they made...
