    Henry Model H001 jamming

I have tried standard Federal, Winchester bulk pack, Remington Vipers and another high velocity Remington round, CCI 22 minimags. All jam in the same manner when the action is slowly cycled. How old is your Henry, I think it depends a lot of when they were made. I have found that Henrys 5 years...

    Henry Model H001 jamming

It works fine with shorts. It seems to be with more recent production. Problem confirmed by gunsmith who is Henry dealer. He arranged for me to send it back to the factory again. Henry has given it thier best shot so far, unfortunately they have not fixed the problem.

    Henry Model H001 jamming

Has anyone found that thier Henry 22 lever action jams if the action is not worked fast enough. Thr round seems to pop up and jam at the top of the receiver. I have had the problem on one purchased in Nov 2011. I cannot duplicate the problem on my friends six year old Henry. Have they made some...

What's the oldest gun you own ?

My oldest is a Model 06 Winchester pump, at least that is what is stamped on the barrel. Fjestad's Blue Book lists it as a Model 1906 Slide Action. I can't really date it since Fjestad says in his Winchester Review (Blue Book) "Winchester factory data on models produced approx. 1907 to 1961 is...

    I'm giving my guns away.

Mine modest collection is gradually being pared down. Gave my Winchester 94 to my grandson as a welcome home gift when he returned from his 3rd Tour in Iraq. The oldest grandson, EC 130, pilot hasn't much interest now, but I would like him to have at least one as a keepsake. My nephew will...

    Leaving clips loaded

Sorry, did a search on loaded clips, I should have looked for loaded magzines as pointed out by rcmodels. :o Now I have an answer to the question thanks to him. Now the next guy wanting an answer can enter either clips or magazines.

    Leaving clips loaded

Argument among gun cronies. Leaving clips/magazines fully loaded will eventually cause the spring to take a set. True or false - or something in between?

    410/45 handguns

The Judge really got my attention, but the price is just a bit steep when I have other handguns that can keep the homestead safe.

Joined back in 07 but have just become active again after resurrecting my hand loading equipment. Have always loved guns since my first .22 Winchester 68. Have accumulated a fair number of rifles and hand guns in my 79 years. Use to find them at garage sales even. Picked up a beautiful Weatherby...

What are your favorite movies that involve Guns?

Sargent York, Northwest Passage, Last of the Mohegans some real shooting in those films. Then a more recent one, War Waggon - neat gattling gun sequences.

I've got a box of live rounds (50) of 45 ACP Ball of the same vintage. Is it it safe to use? Colt 1911A1

    Head stamp

Are these military head stamps? One is 38 Spl and the other 45 ACP. Brass and rounds inheredted some time ago. Meaning of the letters, numbers I assume are date of manufacture.

What's the oldest gun you own ?

My oldest: Winchester Model 06, .22LR pump traded a two cylinder Maytag washing machine engine for it when I was about 14, that would have been in 1944. Best deal I ever got in my life. I suspect it is a bit over 100 years old. Still shoots like a charm. In the hand gun department it would...

    .38+p and .357

Learn something new every day. Not bad for my 80th orbit around the sun. Measured 38 Sp .125 up from the rim and it is 0.0182" thick, while the .357 measured at the same point is 0.215 thick. Quite a difference.

    .38+p and .357

357 vs 38 Special case thickness rc model's statement got me curious. "A .38 Spc case isn't as strong as a .357 case, either in thickness, or hardness." I measured the case thickness and both the 357 and 38 Spl were 0.0135. No way to check the hardness, so that must be the only...

You guys make a good point. It is not worth risking an incident loading38 Sp with 357 Magnum loads. Bad idea on my part. :banghead:

    Power Pistol 9mm Test Report

I was wondering how people like the Power Pistol powder by Alliant. With powder getting in short supply I was able to pick up a pound today at the local gun shop. In looking over Alliant's loading data it seems to cover everything from 380 auto to 45 ACP. Any caveats in using it? I've been...
