I would think its like any other single action. Hold the hammer and depress the trigger and carefully ride the hammer down. Then make sure the hammer is in between the rounds on their safety notch! Thats how I do it!

I have never shot the 22a, own the 422 and its a good shooter. No failures, eats everything I feed it, my wife loves the gun! I think it would be a bit harder to find a 422 because they are no longer produced. Production dates: 1987-1996

I own a 9ve, flawless in performance!! Not the prettiest and not the best all around firearm but for what I paid, plus the 2 free mags from S&W its a deal!! My 9ve will shoot anything put through it, the trigger pull isnt as bad as it seems, and at $300 with 4 high cap mags-you cant go wrong!!
