There is no sense using a boresighter on a .22 unless you're bored and feel like playing with one. Just shoot it from close, and move the reticle until it's on.

I'm quite pleased that the first handgun I bought was a security six. Traded a plain jane synthetic model 700 and $40 for it about 5 years ago. Still one of my favorite handguns.

Nobody in their right mind is going to buy that gun without pulling the trigger on it and going through all the functions of the gun. In my mind I would expect the gun had some issues, or the dealer had some of his own issues. Either way, you did the right thing.

Yeah, the double action trigger pull is going to make them tough to shoot without pulling the hammer back anyway, and loading a mag or a tube is going to be quicker and offer a higher capacity than a cylinder.

It technically could take a deer down with a proper shot, heck a .22 can do it, however it's illegal in many states, and less than ideal also. Check your local laws first and foremost.

Just an update... I ended up borrowing a buddies 1100 barrel which took tubes, and I used an imp. cyl. Shot a 29/56 on sporting clays (my first time so don't criticize too bad!) and destroyed the birds. How tight these birds held I think I could have used just about anything to take them down...

Yeah, kind of wish I had something to use in IC, thinking about a 12ga skeet choke over the 16ga mod choke, simply because I shoot better with the 12ga... at close range anyway...

Wow, ordered my ultradot directly from them on Friday afternoon, had it on my gun Monday! It's very nice. Really quite similar to the millet, I like the finish on the ultradot a bit more, and the view is a bit brighter too. All said and done though the lifetime warranty is what I like best.

It is a consideration I've thought about. They run $230, but honestly I don't think I'd ever use the original barrel, and it's a gun I'd never sell. If I run into a used one then I think I'd buy a new barrel.

Thinking of bringing my auto-5 16 gauge with fixed mod choke and number 6 high brass shells. Seem reasonable? I've never done this before. We're also going to be shooting some quail, which are going to be a bit harder to hit, but my main concern is I have something appropriate for the pheasants...
