I was out this weekend with some young shooters. It was the 1st time one of them had ever shot a "real" gun. I gave them a 10/22 to practice shooting cans with. Well after a brick of cheap ammo the gun started to fail to feed every so many rounds. After clearing the chamber several times, a thought came into my head. Why doesn't any company make a non-carbine, 22lr revolver in a rifle platform? I have done a little digging, and ran across several carbine models from the past, but nothing in a full size rifle package. My thoughts behind this is that it would be a great learning tool for young shooters, and the most reliable multiple shot rifle that does not require a bolt throw. Any thoughts?

Ha...I didn't say I had all the bugs worked out. I'm sure with todays gun technology there would be a way to get around the flash from the cylinder gap.

Yeah, the double action trigger pull is going to make them tough to shoot without pulling the hammer back anyway, and loading a mag or a tube is going to be quicker and offer a higher capacity than a cylinder.

Bud: That is a neat weapon.
A bolt is great, I have nothing against either a bolt or a lever action in any chambering. I have seen enough lever .22's jam if not kept clean. I was just an idea I came up with after looking at an old Hi-standard 11 shot revolver I have in the safe. True enough on the trigger pull, however I do not see why with the proper craftmanship why it could not be reduced to something managable for any shooter.
