I normally expect that by the time I'm aware of the threat I'll be looking down the barrel of the enemy's weapon. No, I don't walk around in a fog (most of the time anyway) but I believe in training for the worst case scenario.
Bill Jordan could draw and shoot faster than most folks could...
Many young men who had never fired a pistol in their lives learned on the 1911A1 courtesy of the U. S. Army.
If she can hold a three pound pistol at arms length and she's not a total bimbo, get her what she wants. Then get her some proper training.

I've never been a big fan of Glock triggers but the best one I ever used was a #3.5 connecter with a NY-2 spring. The whole deal was highly polished and gave a feel similar to a Kahr trigger.

I never top off my 1911's, that way I have someplace to store the chambered round when it is ejected, but I do use an 8rd mag now that I have received one of them there Tripp Cobra Mags.

I had one. It didn't live up to expectations and is now gone. I never cared for the trigger, but if it would have at least been accurate and reliable, I would still own it.

Form follows function. Every element of that pistol is dedicated to one thing, and I can see the beauty in that.
But I still have no use or desire for one.

I've got one. It needs some kind of adhesive to keep it in position. I haven't been able to tighten the grip screws tight enough to keep it in place. Other than that, it is "grippy", and it doesn't look bad either.

I agree with Tuner that a 4 incher will be a little quicker out of the leather, but the leather itself will likely be a bigger factor in getting the gun on target quickly.
Some holsters are WAY FASTER than others and it's a design thing. There are some really slow high quality holsters out...
Whatever advantage the GAP has in reducing grip size was sacrificed by glock refusing to use a conventional magazine. My DOUBLE STACK H&K USP .45f magazines would go about 3/4 of the way into my now departed SINGLE STACK G36.
Now if someone wants to manufacture a subcompact GAP using a...
Betty said, "You can tuck the shirt in around the holster, but I didn't like the belt clips showing, so I made him pull his shirt back out."
The J-Hooks that are available from Comp-Tac work with the "Answer", in fact, I believe the kydex shell of the "Answer" is made by Comp-Tac...
I carry my Kahr P9 in a "Tunebelt" designed to carry a CD Player. You could even wear headphones and run the cord into the pouch if you really wanted to go into stealth mode.

Here we go again.....
How much penetration do you need? If I'm not mistake Fackler liked 18 inches. How many JHP's out there get that much in gelatin?

SIGs reputation for reliability and accuracy was not built on 1911's, and although 1911's aren't really that difficult to build the, GSR is still so new as to be an unknown quantity. The specs are out there for anyone to use, but the key will be the QC and service departments.

When it susnsets I'll probably buy a 12 rounder for my USP .45f and keep it in the gun. I doubt that I'll buy a wonder nine or more than one mag for the USP.
