    Lead sled... worth the price?

We use one at Deer Camp, when all the hunters are checking zero, or zero'ing new gear. It is great for that volume of use.

Adjustable Trigger with Safety on Mauser

I ran this by Timney technical support, and they said, on a trigger blocking safety on an adjustable trigger, their Featherweight Deluxe for example, the safety would bind the sear and prevent cocking if the safety would be applied AFTER firing, so do not put the safety on unless the gun is cocked.

Adjustable Trigger with Safety on Mauser

The trigger, when held in place by the safety, binds the sear. That prevents it from falling and firing, but for this trigger, also prevents the sear from raising if you put the safety on after the gun is fired. I suspect the speed lock, which lacks the notched cocking piece of a military...

Adjustable Trigger with Safety on Mauser

So, just drop a Timney or Bold w/ safety in there and I am good to go? There is nothing wrong with the bolt; it works fine with a different trigger and safety.

Adjustable Trigger with Safety on Mauser

I have a commercial Mauser with an adjustable trigger with safety. It allows the bolt to be opened and closed with the safety on. However, I have noticed that you cannot put the safety on when the gun is not cocked. Moreover, if I shoot, and attempt to put the safety on without working the...

Quite easily. Load as per any customary instruction. Fire 2 rounds. There, you should have easily crested your stated goal.

7 mm mauser vs 6.5 swede

The 6.5 pictured I would leave alone. The swede in its original pre-98 military form or nothing else. That leaves the unseen 7x57. If it is a desirable 98 (Dutch police carbine for example) then by all means. As far as shooting, loading, there is zero practical difference if you are...

Help with a stuck bullet and wooden dowel.

Method 1: Fill the chamber end with Hoppes Bench Rest-9 copper solvent and sit the barreled action muzzle down in a plastic bucket in a corner. Refresh the copper solvent every other day. 2 weeks will take care of a .224 bullet. Method 2: Put about 5 grains of Unique in a primed case. Fix...

So that means a big post disaster price hike after current stock is sold? Bud's had a 44 Mag for $875. I better get one while I can.

    Buying Ammo Online

I see repeated on this forum a common refrain, "I would like to own/recommend caliber X, but I never see ammo for it on the shelf." Finding ammo online is usually easier than finding my keys and wallet, much less driving to a store and paying for gas. Is buying ammo online illegal in...

    The Marlin 1894 Club

All the Marlins at my Dick's appear to be Remlin's, which supposedly are uniformly undesirable. Moreover, they all have nylon ties holding the levers close so you can to little to check them out. I guess I am out of the Marlin 1894 market :/

    S&K mount for 24-47 mauser

The large flanged nut goes into the spring slot in the sight base. Then two set screws allow you to level the base. Then snug, but do not overtighten, the screw that goes into the flanged nut.

    Will the market embrace?

Worst possible market to introduce a one-off AR rifle cartridge. Over sold market, sluggish economy, people will stick with what works in the short term, and the new kid on the block will hear the crickets.
