I buy all my primers and powder locally. Pickings are pretty thin right now, but I do have enough for my immediate needs. I'm just sitting tight till the rush is over and stocks come back up to normal levels.
In my experience it's a common occurrence with the brass set screw. I'm in the process of replacing my RCBS rings with Forster rings. Don't know the proper size allen wrench offhand though.
Griz bashing is heartily approved of in our household, even if my daughter is one, the little traitor. :D
My oldest son is registered to start at MSU next year and I've started him well on his way to his gun addiction. He has a Remington CDL in .270, an 870 in 12ga, and a Marlin 925 .22...
I used a RC for a long time (not as long as you), went ahead and got a Co-Ax even though the RC still works. Glad I made the change. Don't wait till the RC wears out to treat yourself to a new press, you might be waiting a long, long time.
1. Functionality, ie accurate, ease of maintenance, etc.
2. Looks.
3. Good value, i.e cost/performance.
Or has some collector value to me.
All subjective.
I've never sacrificed the family finances with my hobby. When we were young, poor and had 3 kids in diapers I got by with my .270, 12ga and .22 for years.
All our family needs are taken care of first, I owe less on my mortgage than many people spend on new cars, and have no credit card nor...
I was in a Sportsman's warehouse a month or so ago looking at the presses, didn't need one, just like to look at em.
Anyway this other crazy customer just walks up to me and starts extolling the virtues of the Dillon 550. :neener:
He went on and on and on and on with no encouragement from me...
Some states assess a property tax/business inventory tax based on year end inventory levels. You are talking about income taxes.
But I doubt very, very much that the empty shelves at SW have anything to do with an inventory tax and everything to do with their poor credit.
snuffy, no the dillon doesn't have 6 stations but it does combine the flaring and powder dropping in one station allowing it to do in 5 stations what would require 6 stations in the Pro 2000 as these are done in separate steps in the RCBS unit.
As far as the aps strips, they are easy and quick...
If it is important for you to have the option to seat & crimp in separate stations and still have a place for a powder check die, get the 650. If you may want a case feeder, get the 650 (or the Hornady).
If the answer is no to those options, the Pro 2000 is a fine press and is worth...
Yep I use the Unique case lube, won't go back to pads or sprays either. I haven't used the imperial wax but I suspect it is very similar to the Unique case lube.
