I have an acquaintance that is trying to sell me his 350 remington magnum.
He discovered that I am a "firearms enthusiast". Anyway I have never fired a 350 but know that some of you must have. What advice can you give me. Oh and yes I do handload.
A friend has a colt revolver that we are trying to identify. On it is the following: Colt 41 D.A. patent 3426 September 19th 1871 to January 19th 1875. The serial number is 123425. I called Colt and was told that it should have a model name on it also. I don't remember seeing a name on it...
Do any of you have a Swiss 1911 rifle. If so how do you like it. I love my k31 and am now thinking about the 1911.
Any warnings or things I need to know before I take the plunge?
This question may have already been asked. Does anyone know approximately how many of us there are in the US that handload? I did a search on this site and couldn't find any info. I have also tried the web again to no avail. This is information that I am sure someone has.
Just got a trooper and as I knew the grip is just a little too big for me toward the bottom. I have looked around for replacement grips but can't really tell anything about their size compared to the originals. I figure some of you out there have had experience in this and can point me...
The title says it all. I just found a trooper and am interested in what ya'll have tried that works well. Also can this revolver take the magnum loads exclusively or should I give it a breather and use 38 specials more often.
I had a 357 years ago it was a security six. I do remember that...
I was in Wal Mart today and came across some ammo for my sks. The shelf label indicated it was "Tula" ammo however the label on the box read like this.
Open-End Joined-Stock Company "The Ulyanovsk Cartridges Works". I'm sure Wal Mart didn't pull "Tula" out of thin air so it probably is...
What about it, any of you guys have one? Do you like it? I have heard the recoil is more of a heavy push than a sharp rap but still quite a bit to get used to. I will handload for it if I get one.
I have read that some of you guys use dryer sheets in you tumblers to collect the media dust.
Most seem to use sheets that have already been used. Can new ones be used also and how many do you use at a time?
This summer I worked up some loads for a couple of revolvers and they worked really well. It was very dry here this summer. I recently loaded the same stuff up and have not had the same accuracy. I talked to a gent at the range and he said it was probably due to the humidity which has been...
I load 45 colt and have some brass from different makers and some of it has a groove about halfway down the cartridge. Not all brands have this groove.
What is or was the purpose of the groove?
Was at the range today trying some handloads in my 22-250 and having trouble with focus on the scope. It is a simmons whitetail classic and I've had it for a few years now. Anyway, I just could not get a clear sight picture and thought it was my eyes. It probably is mainly my eyes since they...
Here are pictures of the manual.
I took 2 more pictures but couldn't get them to come across account corrupted files according to the computer. You're looking at page 719 in the Hercules section for the standard 45 colt listings in the HODGDON manual.
Ok here's the deal. I loaded some 7.5x55 for my k-31 using redding dies which according to redding and the web site are designed for the k-31.
I am using privi brass which is new, cci 200 large rifle primers and nosler ballistic tip 125 grain bullets. The powder is H380 with a load out of...
I originally posted this on the rifle forum but should have put it here.
What is the maximum length and trim length of the 7.5x55 cartridge for the
k31 Swiss rifle.
The 2 lengths I've seen posted are 2.175 and 2.185 but I've never seen them listed together as max and trim to lengths...
I recently acquired a k31 and have been gathering components etc for loading this round. So far I have been able to find all of the info I need except for definitive data about the maximum and trim to lengths of the case.
From everything I have been able to find, I believe the lengths are as...
