Homeland Security Video, Grab Scissors if there is active shooter in Bldg.

FYI, the 21-foot rule applies to someone with a holstered pistol. It doesn't apply if the pistol (or rifle) is already out.

Personal defense weapons if the government has them

Can anyone give me a logical explanation why the DHS needs 7000 rifles? I can't figure it out.

2 girls bitten by gun bug, what to suggest?

The only gun my wife refuses to shoot is my J-Frame. She loves the Glock 19, her LCP, even the shotgun, but won't touch the 642. I can't say that I really blame her. If it's purely for home defense, then it's hard to beat a Glock 19 with a white light.

Why keep bringing up the 2nd Amendment?

No, the earlier Weimar goverment did all the disarming. And get this -- the Weimar gov did it specifically to disarm the Nazis! So by the time the Nazis got into power, they were able to use the existing gun laws against the Weimar. The modern parallels are amazing. Today, antis are always...

Why keep bringing up the 2nd Amendment?

In terms of "taking him down while he's reloading," are you interested in knowing whether or not this tactic is feasible, or just a silly fantasy? Wouldn't it make sense to ask the experts? Well, the experts agree that it's fantasy. And by the way, the VA Tech shooter used 10-round...

Why keep bringing up the 2nd Amendment?

So you have 2 arguments here: 1) that you personally don't believe that we are close to a tyrannical government; and 2) that you don't think small arms would make a difference even if we were. I'll address each one separately. 1) That's your opinion. Your personal opinion. You may be...

Why keep bringing up the 2nd Amendment?

Hi Timmy, I really hope that you're sincere about being here for a respectful debate. If that's true, then you're about to be exposed to a lot of eye-opening information -- stuff that you probably haven't thought of. I hope, in the spirit of your first post, you will take the time to truly...

STOP assuming its over and READ THIS

I wish there were more threads like this on THR. Actually, I wish all of the threads were like this right now. If everyone on THR wrote their representatives, we'd have a lot less to worry about. Remember: The antis are riled up and THEY are writing. Have you written yet?

    My big gun control article

Mr. Correia, It's a fantastic article -- but there's one problem. I wish you wouldn't reflexively call the anti-gun side "liberal" or "Democrat". There are plenty of liberal and/or Democrat gun owners in this country, and we need to partner with them right now. If you want to convince people...

Kel Tec P32 - Would You Trust Your Life To It?

Interesting that several have mentioned the PF9. I have one, but it failed miserably on me. The slide locked so badly that the local gun shop owner didn't even know what to do. We sent it back to Kel Tec, and they did a number on it, but honestly, it still sits in my safe. It's hard to trust...

Kel Tec P32 - Would You Trust Your Life To It?

Thanks for the replies. For the record, please leave caliber discussions aside. I'm only interested in discussing the reliability of the P32, or other similar pocket pistols. Tolvo, why a hard-chrome slide? What's the difference? Stevie-Ray, what's Geco ball, and where do I buy it?

Kel Tec P32 - Would You Trust Your Life To It?

Hi all, Caliber issues aside, would you trust your life to a P32? Is it reliable enough to count on in a pinch? Would you buy one for your wife? I have a P32 that I carry when I can't conceal my S&W 642. To give you some background, I bought the 642 after my Kel Tec PF9 failed on the...

    Help - 1872 Colt SAA - What's It Worth?

Many thanks for all the replies. To clarify, I don't think the local dealer was actually offering $1500. He was just offering an opinion. As for the sentimental value of the gun,it doesn't mean much to me. I'd rather have the money. Or, if I were going to honor my great-grandfather, I...

    Help - 1872 Colt SAA - What's It Worth?

Hi folks. This is my great-grandfather's Colt. I could use the money right about now. I've been told by a local gun dealer that it might be worth $1500, but I don't really trust him. Any thoughts on what it's worth? Thanks in advance.

    Grammar for Gunnies

The Big Seven: your = A possessive personal pronoun. A personal pronoun is a word that refers to a specific person (you, I, they). If something belongs to you (possessive), then it's yours: your book, your car, etc. Do NOT confuse this word with "you're." Nothing is more embarrassing than an...

SP101 2" Need some help choosing the model (.38 vs. .357 mag)

Where did you read that? I'd also be curious why you want something more powerful than .38+p? Are we talking about home defense? I've got a SP101 .357 2.25" DAO. I like it with both .38+p and .357. Like you, I wouldn't want to shoot a .357 indoors because of the loudness and the muzzle...
