"Yeah, after consulting with some law enforcement buddies of mine, I'm just gonna buy a 12ga pump shotgun this week.
They said the 9mm was adequate, the 30-30 more than adequate, but a 12 gauge pump with 3" 00 Buck would be absolutely, positively devastating against an assailant. And they...
I've got a Glock 26 which is similar and a S&W 908. I find that the Glock stays in the safe and the 908 goes with me more often than not. I fnd it easier to conceal the 908 and can shove it in my coat pocket fully loaded. Something I wouldn't dream of doing with a Glock or M&P.
I bought a S&W Lady Smith 357 mag a while back for my wife. I've been carrying it a lot lately. The smooth wood grips are great for concealed carry. Never snag on clothes and don't print. I like them much better than the grips on my standard model 60. I suppose I could get new grips but I...
Back in the day when S&W first produced these as the "Chief's Special" load they were the best thing for the aluminum frame J frames of the time. Today with J frames capable of taking up to .357 mag they seem out of place. Of course if you have an old Chief's Special then they are a nice load...
Regarding bedding and cross bolting the CZ-550 I would agree but also recommend removing the stock front swivel post and replace it with a barrel band.
Go to your local hardware store and find a paint stripper that contains mostly methylene chloride. This chemical will not harm the metal and is used in the aircraft industry and by the military to remove paint from aircraft. It will take the epoxy finish off. I used this on some 1911 frames a...
You can't outrun a moose. Assuming you have no gun and the moose is charging get a large tree between you and the moose. You can get around the tree much faster than the moose can and it will not be able to get you. Eventually it will give up and go away.
They work as advertised. I own a couple and they will get the job done. No malfunctions and acceptable accuracy and trigger for self defense. I've got a couple of thousand rounds between the two with no issues.
".458 Lott and hot loaded 45-70 in a Marlin are fine. Maybe a .460 Weatherby, but I've never tried one. Recoil is a mind over matter thing."
"Don't know about that, when it bruizes you so you are ozing blood it hurts."
Can't say I've ever experienced that. I've done 25 500 grain Lotts in a...
Get the Blackhawk and don't shoot it. I bought one in the 80's when they first came out and never shot it. I figure it's only going to get more valuable as time goes on.
If it's all you have then use it with reduced loads as the others have indicated. If you have something more appropriate than why would you want to use a .44 mag?
