Anybody have experience with the 8x56R Hungarian Steyr M95?

I owned one and the firing pin broke at the cocking thread. *sigh* This is probably the most fun rifle ive ever shot being as handy and powerful as they are. I wish I could have a slide action rifle to scope just like it (I hate altering milsurp). I love fact that its a magnum caliber in terms...

    Rechambering question

I recently acquired a remington Model 7 chambered in 260 rem. I was wondering how could I rechamber/barrel it to .308 because they are roughly the same length for the action and whatnot. Would I need to have it rebarreled and chambered? Or would I need to buy a new barrel and chambering for...

    Steyr 95

So I bought a Steyr M95 today for $140 and 20 rounds at about a dollar each. I'd like to find out what the markings on it mean. So far I know that the rifle has an S which is the Austrian for the new 8x56R Hungarian, and that it would be H on hungarian varients. Anyway to find the year date or...

Need suggestions on a Multi rifle.

Looked it up. It's excellent, has the .308 and the stock in some cases. And you say your building one?

Need suggestions on a Multi rifle.

Love lever actions, love the sights, love that I could scabbard them. Would fit the bill, but my right hand doesnt do good with it. I own a bit of Cstock conventional grip weapons, but the right hand has a bit of trouble with it. :(

Need suggestions on a Multi rifle.

Is it only in .223? I was hoping for something with a little more UMF. The thumbhole stock is a +. Thanks Nice carbine, a bit pricey for a 9mm yes?

    Bow effectiveness for Home Defence

Which leads me to another question... how many of you would defend your home with a black powder weapon?

    Bow effectiveness for Home Defence

Yea, anyone that would use a bow for defending his household would have to be smoking something. Anyone here wanna admit they'd defend a house with a bow? :P

Need suggestions on a Multi rifle.

I'm in need of a new rifle, and my current collection isn't quite enough. The purpose of this rifle would be to hunt, self defence, or trek a LONG ways into the woods. Maybe a potential combat range of 50 yards and higher Criteria: Must have provision for optics and irons (over and under)...

    When the law is wrong.

Good to know we have a good set of like minded people here, now that the cards are on the table, is anyone in favor of creating an organized venue to breathe this information about?

    When the law is wrong.

What needs to happen is making our talking synonymous with our doing. So ladies and gentlemen, I propose we organize a form of awareness, directly on this issue, so that we won't have to self censor ourselves everytime we need to address an issue, we can talk alot, but lets do something. PM please.

    When the law is wrong.

Whos time are we wasting? We're here for the preservation of that which we love. Lets grow some balls, brains, and brawn, and UNITE as a community of boomstick sweeping people. Registration is a drawing line in my book, no gun of mine will be registered. That amnesty period is a tactical...

    The Citizen's Rifle

I've codesigned with him a format of internal mechanics, we're opting on an enfield bolt action with a different frontal locking system, a more simplified bolt, and a semi automatic bolt conversion.

    When the law is wrong.

Also, I personally think the laws now are wrong, but they aren't so wrong that I need to go torchin' with the pitch fork and drinking buddies. As I have said last resort, and it would help if we had a definitive line to draw to prevent further loss. Yes, I'm young, and it wasn't till only 3...

    When the law is wrong.

Thats why I had it in quotation marks, saying as if God really did grant us this, we would be ensured it without risk of losing it. Its my assumption then that God helps those that helps themselves. And if that God based statement is a logical fallacy, let me state this: I will not surrender...

    When the law is wrong.

Looking past the veil of excuses for gun control, we need to question why the higher ups behind the momentum in the media and the public opinion would support such policy. Control, or something more sinister?
