Okay, I know that we have all seen the media trying to relate the escalating violence in Mexico to the sunset of “assault weapons ban”. Most of what I’ve seen has been incredibly biased, but it has been their regular rhetoric of describing box-fed semi-autos as assault weapons. This morning I...
I think all of the models you are considering are good options. I voted for the P2000.
Personally, I think it's good that you've already ruled out a lot models. I mean, ultimately you'll have to rule out every model but one anyway.

Sig P232. I just find the Sig to be the nicest 380 I've ever handled. In my opinion the only negative to the Sig is the price. If that is an issue, I'd go with the Bersa.

I think that if a system was set up that could repeal someone's right to own firearms due to a mental condition, then there would also have to be an appeals system that involved mental health professionals. It would have to be flexible enough to address situations as mentioned above where...
Shipwreck,
What's it like to shoot? I've never fired 5.7, but I'll bet it's tons of fun. I'm yet to even see the P90 in person.
It's funny to hear people talk about mag costs. I remember when 40S&W Glock mags were $80 during the Clinton ban. Heck, new P229 mags are still $40+ around here...
Is there any great quality difference between the different Eastern European Mags? I've see the Romanian's pretty cheap, but it looks like the Polish and Bulgarian mags cost a bit more.

rfleming,
My favorite .308 is my Rem 700 PSS. I also really like Savage rifles and my next bolt gun will probably be a Savage. I think all of your choices are good and agree with Essex's advice. Handle them all and see which one you like the best.
Doc2005,
I recently read an article...
I've never found shooting next to my wife's Mag-na-ported J-frame any more obnoxious than shooting next to a standard 357. I imagine that this is mostly due to the angle of the cuts. They really do blow most of the blast up.
Contrast that with a comped SLR-95 that used to own. Since the...
That's an interesting question. My wife has 2-1/2" J-frame 357 that she generally runs 38+p's out of. I don't have a similar non-ported 357 to compare it to, but I will say that when I clean it, there is generally fouling on both sides of the front sight. It's hard to imagine that the fouling...
My brother and I ordered 1,000 rounds of it from The Sportsmans Guide, just to check it out. It actually does have powder in it (enough for a fairly loud bark). We cut one open to see how it was put together and were surprised to see how much powder they contained. It is true that they won't...
That really is the key to all the info on forums like this. I read a lot (from many sources) so that I can seperate fact from fiction from opinion. I have definitely found some people on this forum whose writings are almost always extremely informative and objective. Of course you also run...
Web.
Both sources offer a lot of data (I find both the facts and opinions useful), but I like the web for comparisons and contrasts you'd never see in a magazine (like Bobo's handgun comparison or model "x" vs model "y").
Also, the web offers a ton of testimonies of personal experience...
