Okay, I know that we have all seen the media trying to relate the escalating violence in Mexico to the sunset of “assault weapons ban”. Most of what I’ve seen has been incredibly biased, but it has been their regular rhetoric of describing box-fed semi-autos as assault weapons. This morning I saw something different.

From Bill Plante this morning on the Early Show:
“… military grade arms, including grenades and machine guns are easily purchased in the U.S.”

I’m a pretty even-keeled person, but this really angers me. This passes the point of bad journalism and misrepresentation of the truth and crosses into outright propaganda and lies. If it’s so easy to get grenades and machine guns, I want to see an expose on that; in fact I suggested that very idea to the CBS.

I've emailed reporters and such before. Their usual reply is "I was only writing what was given to me." Chances are you have to go much higher up to make a difference.

The problem is, no matter what the hobby or profession, the news always seems to screw it up. Just like when they called the browning 1919, an anti-aircraft gun.

Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear.

Media..

I put the media right in the middle of "Robert's Five Rules for Life"

1. Don't trust nobody.

2. Don't believe anything you hear

3. Don't believe half of what you see. (Nothing in the media).

4. People, in general, are no damn good.

5. Don't never trust nobody.

It's obvious that the White House is [at least partially] driving the media.

This is why those of us who don't want socialism didn't vote for the liberals. Lots of folks were duped or whatever and they ended up in office. Welcome to the new America (notice I didn't say United States).

Take it with a grain of salt and do whatever is in your power to oppose the anti-gun, anti-freedom crowd.
