Really just want to make sure that the front post doesn't need to be unscrewed or the unit heated or something like that. It's tempting to just whack away but sometimes it pays to step back and think first.

My new 91/30 is shooting about six inches to the right at 50 yards and so I need to drift the front sight to adjust the point of impact. Is there any special trick to this or do I just tap it across with a soft punch?

zxcvbob is correct of course and just to clarify, the case length will grow over time due to being resized, not due to being fired. After a few reloads, you'll probably find that most of those short cases will need a trim.

Haven't seen a dud one yet. They all go bang for me first time every time.
