    Good revolver for a newbie?

Another vote for the Ruger SP101 in .357 magnum.

    Heritage Arms SA .22LR/.22Mag

I have one and I do like it. I did a little trigger job on it that really helped. Also I paid 100 bucks for mine and I believe they are 180 new. So you are doing the right thing by passing it up.

I'm being tempted by the 1911....

Smith & wesson's external extractor works flawlessly. I have yet to run into a S&W 1911 owner that doesnt agree

    Riddle me this...

I voted 620. Based solely on aesthetics

I fell in love with a 1911 today...

My thought's are you shouldnt sell both of you polymer's. Dont forget about S&W 1911's. If you are going to carry the 1911 you may want to check out something like the dan wesson cbob. Good luck on your next purchase but be warned you cant stop with just one 1911 :)

    Totally new to ownership...what now?

I think you are doing the right thing far as the course goes. You may wanna find a site about your state's gun laws if it has one. Georgia has a great one http://www.georgiapacking.org/

    First Handgun

Just for target plinking I would suggest 9mm. You have some great choices in handguns there, but you really should add the M&P and XD to the list. Try out as many as you can. Good luck on your first purchase

toothpaste, baking soda, etc...home action jobs

I used jewler's rouge last week on one of my revolvers. It had a real gritty action. It is very smooth now.

    Polymer Love

I am a revolver and 1911 guy. But I must admit my M&P compact .40 gets carried alot.

    Revolver Jam

Same with me average_shooter. Mine was with remington hollow points that I paid 30 bucks for :barf:

    Revolver Jam

I had that happen to me once. It wound up being one of the bullet casings was out of spec. and the head spacing in the revolver didnt allow it to spin. I just took that bullet out and replaced with another and all was well.
