    Pepperbox

Need a Allen & Thurber Pepperbox mainspring I have an Allen & Thurber Pepperbox with a broken mainspring. Any sources? I've seached for a couple of weeks now with no luck. Is it possible to weld it? Mine is broken half-way up the tension side. Thanks

J@B cold weld on action base

JB Weld is brittle I don't think JB Weld will work. I believe it will shatter off at first recoil. We use tubes of it (prefer JB Quick) working on cars. The way we clean the screwdriver used to apply it, is to hit it with a hammer when dry. JB Weld shatters and falls off, leaving the tip clean...

    Taurus Judge: What's the Verdict?

I just picked up my bobbed, hammerless-conceal Judge yesterday. It's the first new factory in-the-box gun I've bought in 29 years. I liked the hammerless version, wouldn't buy one otherwise. I like little pocket guns, and this fits in my front pants pocket (with suspenders) and carries...

Leman Lancaster Side Load Cartridge Rifle

There is a second locking pin that drops into the hole in the barreled action base shown in the 4th photo. I think the rearward pressure is shared between the lockup and the swivel point of the bolt. Also, caliber is not .44, looks to be closer to .38 short. My gunsmith has the gun to verify.

Leman Lancaster Side Load Cartridge Rifle

Thanks, yes, we'll cast the chamber to see for sure, but .44 caliber was my guess. The breech opens by sliding the checked pad rearward (third photo, left side under the locking tang). The ejector is interesting to note, it moves slowly outward as the breech is swung left, then snaps back...

Leman Lancaster Side Load Cartridge Rifle

Can help me verify the following, and tell me the approximate date of build? I have a Lemnan Lancaster rifle that I can find very little info on. It has no serial numbers marked anywhere. I have found that Henry Leman was against any breech loaded rifle, but Paul Leman instructed his staff to...

    1858 Remington revolver value

More 1858 Rem markings Note: the top of the barrel has three lines of stamping, first is the "PATENTED..." line, second is the "E. REMINGTON... line, third is the "NEW ARMY" line Also note: - All letters are Capital, no lower case, and - The second line spells out "NEW YORK", not "N.Y."

    1858 Remington revolver value

1858 Rem New Army markings Sorry, didn't see your question until now. I haven't figured out how to use the PM function... My pistol is marked on the top of the barrel as described above, but my "NEW ARMY" stamping appears to have been added after, is lighter in the striking, and tilted...

    1858 Remington revolver value

1858 remington - old or new army The gun's not mine yet, but the differences from a New model army are this gun has a sloped edge under the ramrod, where the New model army has closer to a 90 degree cut or angle. Also, the gun I'm looking at has a very tall front sight, maybe the German silver...

    1858 Remington revolver value

1858 Remington value It's original, not reproduction. I see it tonight, have only seen a photo so far. I've been told it's marked 1858, but the owner thinks it's a Colt. It makes me think it may have ben made by another manufacturer, as I've read many copies were identical, or slightly modified...
