I'd be really cautious using a fast pistol powder like that for a 6.5 and try to find a reference. I'd think that if you want to use a pistol powder, maybe unique. I tend to use IMR4227 for my cast rifle loads, but have used Unique and SR4759.

I've had several in both 40 and 45 in starvel. it's a nice finish, but it will freckle up along the slide too if not wiped down every day. I've seen starvels at gunshows that show that kind of pattern. I'd say duracoat your star, you can even get it in shiny silver :)

you can probably salvage those bullets by buying a .451 sizer die from Lee, they are pretty cheap and the bullets may be on the large side.
