    retroactive charges

Here's something that came up in a discussion with a friend - if a legal CCW holder is carrying a gun in a place that is illegal to do so, and then uses the gun in a DGU situation where it is legal to do so later on in the day, can that individual be retroactively charged with carrying that gun...

    forearm stance

Not quite sure this is in the right place - but it does relate to BP guns.... I was recently reminded of an unusual shooting stance that I've seen depicted in movies and TV shows - where a long-barreled pistol ( 17th century to early 19th century ) is placed on a shooter's forearm to...

    Hand/spring issue on my 1860

Need some advice here- Wound up with a broken spring on my Pietta 1860 Colt. Even without the spring, the hand can still move forward ( though intermittently ). Got a replacement, but the hand does not seem to move forward enough to rotate the cylinder. Not sure what's going on here...

    Law Enforcement only mag?

This struck me as curious- I just picked up a Beretta factory 13-rd mag for my 84F. It's marked "RESTRICED LAW ENFORCEMENT/GOVERNMENT USE ONLY." Is this dated to the old AWB laws, or marked this way to show it's not California compliant? I'm in Florida, and I didn't think there'd be...

    Security Six and hot loads

Hello all- I'm very aware of the Ruger revolvers being able to handle strong reloads and hot factory loads- I have a. 357 Blackhawk myself. I was wondering about the Security Six; can it handle a steady diet of strong stuff, like the Buffalo Bore or Double Tap .357 loads?

    Base pin stuck on Blackhawk

So, I was out shooting my BH today, and now the base pin is stuck. Any suggestions on what to do to unstick it?

    Tight mainspring screw

I've got a Pietta 1860 Army with an EXTREMELY tight mainspring screw. No problem with the infamous wedge, but this screw must have been wrenched in by Kyle Busch's pit crew. Any suggestions on how to loosen this up without resorting to a power tool or a small nuke? Thanks.

Cartridge conversion for old Pietta Remmy

I've been thinking about getting a cartridge conversion for my Pietta 58 Remmy - don't know what would be best for mine. It's an older one - from the date code, I believe it was made back in the late 70's. Not sure which one would work best, and if there is one, what ammo loads would be too...

    history behind two handed shooting

As someone who does historic tour work, this question came to mind: Modern day handgun shooting technique involves the use of both hands - at least the proper training does. I was wondering when this came about, as nearly all depictions of 19th century and early 20th handgun combat...

    video on 1858 Remmie?

Hello all, New to this forum - just got an 1858 Remmie ( a Pietta ) at the Central Florida gun show this weekend. Looking forward to shooting it and showing it off in relation to my work as a historic tour guide here in Saint Augustine ( I do a Civil War impression, largely for 4th...
