    45 acp set-back problem-ugh

Here is a post from here all be it an old one where the guy talked about the softness of the plated bullet and the slipperiness of it. Hey I'm not saying this is this posters problem just another possibility of many. In all cases neck tension is the culprit of set back issues. But adding a...

    45 acp set-back problem-ugh

I have read on this board I believe as well as other boards that the plated bullets are squishier and the plating has more lubricity to it than extruded jacketed bullets. The squish factor is a result of the thinner covering of the lead core.

    45 acp set-back problem-ugh

From what I have read many things can cause the problem you are describing. 1- plated bullets are slick and many people report problems with set back using them. 2- make sure you are full length resizing you cases and that it measures as it should be about .002 smaller than the bullet before...

Blown primers on two new guns.

The AR15 is stamped 5.56 I haven't made a cast for the chamber so I can't verify that it truley is. But assuming it wasn't I am still only having problems with the Federal ammo Winchester 5.56 shoots fine out of it and the cases show no abnormal signs of excess pressure. The same with the 260...

Blown primers on two new guns.

Wally the flow I'm seeing is where the plunger ejector is resting on the case. The head stamp is almost completely gone and the primers missing. These are on both 5.56 in an AR15 and in 260rem out of a AR10. Both new guns.

Blown primers on two new guns.

The Federal Premium loads are 260 Rem and yes I know that the independence ammo is made in Israel. I sent the independence ammo back to federal as per their request and revived a phone call that they checked out within spec. The 260 Rem ammo is still in my possession. I agree about a couple...

Blown primers on two new guns.

They were gone only an empty pocket where the primer was. The chambers were dry. This happened after say ten to twelve rounds had been fired in each gun and only with Federal products all other ammo had no signs of pressure or blown or missing primers.

Blown primers on two new guns.

I have an AR15 and an AR10 both new the AR10 is a DPMS LR260 the AR15 is a bushmaster. I finally got out to the range the last couple of weekends and decided to sight these new guns in. I was using factory ammo and since it was a sight in session I was using different types of ammo. The AR 15...

10/22 LVT is on the way

You need to go to rimfire central and check out the thread for removing the trigger return spring and replacing it with an internal one. This works with stock triggers not sure about the target trigger though. This will allow you to convert the plunger and spring used to reset the trigger into a...

    Oldest rifle you currently own!

The guy that estimated it offered me four thousand for it. He also said it is hard to price as it would depend on the buyer. Finding the right buyer it could go for as high as 10,000. Collectors are funny in that they pay more than the actual value of the item just to have it. I took it that the...

For a hunting rifle what would be your choice of only one hunting rifle?

I think the 308 or 30-06 would work fine for all the animals you mentioned. I however like a 338 win mag, my shoulder doesn't. My new solution is a LR 260 from dpms.

    Bullpups louder?

I have a uts15 and I don't notice it to be louder to me than my mossberg 500 with I think a 28" barrel.

    Oldest rifle you currently own!

I have an OLD camel gun that my parents brought back from a trip to Germany years ago I had it dated and appraised the gun was originally a match lock but was updated sometime around the American revolution with a flint lock. They estimated the date of production to be somewhere around the late...

utas-usa giving keltec a run for it's money on shotguns?

You may want to check that to make sure. I have heard that the UTAS is not legal in California due to the fact that it alternates between the tubes automatically. They consider that as being a 14 round mag even though you can choose each tube independently.

utas-usa giving keltec a run for it's money on shotguns?

I agree topping off is not optimal with the UTAS or the Kel-Tec. But if I was allowed to load the weapon to capacity at the beginning I could complete the rolling thunder drill with out the need to reload.
