    1911? Worth it?

I've read through this thread and the one aspect that hasn't been mentioned is the experience of shooting ANY 45 ACP. I know the OP asked, specifically, about the 1911 but, in my experience, there's magic to be had in firing most any 45! They have a "feel" all their own and... YES, it is worth...

    Favorite pistol

Gen. 2 CZ P-07! It's the most comfortable, softest shooting, most accurate and best out-of-the-box trigger I have ever experienced!

Never too many? What should I do?!

Relative to your ammo considerations, the more calibers you have the more likely you will be able to find ammo for one of them! BTW, decent 22LR ammo has become one of the least available calibers.

    Video of Glock firing underwater

+1 Some folks just have too much time on their hands! Total waste of ammo and could cause considerable damage to both the gun and the shooter.

    .32 ACP drifting away?

I carried the P-32 for eight years... it's now in my wife's pocketbook. I now carry the Kel-Tec P3AT, only about 1.5 ounces heavier than the P-32 loaded. .32 is a great round if carried in FMJ. There's not enough umph for JHP and the FMJ will give you 10+ inches of penetration.

What are your "Must-Try" guns for a new guy looking for ccw gun?

Kel-Tec, Kel-Tec, Kel-Tec I carry a Kel-Tec P3AT (.380) and my wife carries a Kel-Tec P-32. They both weigh under 8-ounces loaded and easily carry in your pocket. The Ruger LCP is also a good pocket carry (although heavier than the Kel-Tec). Its internals are all Kel-Tec knock-off...

    Wheel Rifles?

Yes there are... Rossi Circuit Judge rifles. http://www.rossiusa.com/product-list.cfm?category=15 I bought the CJ922 in 22 WMR and 22 LR. Had to send it back to Rossi (Taurus, actually) for repairs. The barrel to cylinder clearance was nonexistent. The problem with these rifles is the...

+1. That's the smartest way to handle this problem.

Any chance Ruger will ever make these again?

They call that the Kel-Tec PMR-30, no? I have three 22 WMR firearms: a Savage 93 FVSS bolt action rifle, a Taurus 8-shot, 941 Revolver (yes, it's been back to Taurus for repairs!), and a North American Arms Black Widow, which is one of my favorites.

    40s&w or 357 mag

I find it interesting that the discussion is about caliber and not about the OP's choice between a semi-auto pistol and a revolver. If you want the fire power that multiple rounds give you, go with the semi-auto pistol. If you want to never have to worry about reliability, go with the...

winchester sxp or remington 870 express?

You really should add Mossberg to your list. One problem with the 870 is that the elevator is naturally in the down position, which can cause loading problems in a high stress situation. The Mossbergs (as well as their excellent, little, low cost Maverick 88) have the elevator normally in the...

What speed loaders do you suggest?

+1 No comparison. Pricey and worth it. Otherwise, H&K work well enough for a lot less money. http://www.hksspeedloaders.com/

    Taurus Tracker .357 Problem

Thanks for your continued interest in my problem! Playing with the Tracker today, in D/A mode, I used the trigger to cock the gun as slowly as I could. Finally, I moved slowly enough where the action hung up just as the "click" occurred. Below is a picture of the action hung up in what I'll...

    Taurus Tracker .357 Problem

Thanks, Skidder. One other thing I noticed playing with the side plate off: sometimes, if I pull the trigger back very, very slowly in D/A, there is an audible "click" just before the hammer is ready to release... feels like a detent somewhere in the trigger assembly. It's probably at the point...

    Taurus Tracker .357 Problem

Hi All, Yesterday, I test fired my latest acquisition for the first time, a Taurus Stainless, 4" Tracker in .357 Mag. I bought it used for a very good price and, today, I found out why. If fired in single action mode by first cocking the hammer, it works flawlessly, with a very light and...

Taurus has new pistols coming out

Do NOT depend on Taurus' warranty! I've owned two Taurus pistols, a PT99 and a a 941 in polished SS (4", 8-shot, 22-Mag.). I've had minor problems with both of them. The PT99 started to intermittently drop the magazine when fired. It was probably a problem with the magazine release pin...

    CZ-75 / CZ-85 Laser Mount Question

Hi All, A close friend has a CZ-85. Really nice gun. As you CZ-guys probably know, the CZ-85 is a CZ-75 with an ambidextrous safety. The only laser he has found for a CZ is a Crimson Trace grip laser. The problem is the Crimson Trace can not be used on the CZ-85 because of the...
