Since I am a novice and new to shooting my current schedule for practicing is: dry fire at home and practice mag changes during the week. On the weekends I go to our range and practice standing or sitting. Our range will not allow prone. I shoot my AR at 25 yards really well and have just...

I use smokeless and there are requirements on the pistol and rifle rounds. Example of rules for our local shoot:
"Revolver: Any SINGLE ACTION cartridge revolver of at least .32 caliber, with about50 LEAD ONLY bullets not loaded above 1,000fps. We generally shoot at steel targets, and hot...
I shoot SASS competitions and am getting into CMP service rifle competitions. Here is my two sense worth: I love my Ruger 10/22. Since I shoot iron sighted, I replaced the sights with Tech sights: http://www.tech-sights.com/ and suggest getting multiple mags, and even swapping out the mag...
I am going to start competing in service rifle competitions and would like some help on what equipment such as gloves, shooting jacket, elbow pads etc. you use for your competitions. I will be shooting my AR. thanks
I have noticed many posts have mentioned that "time is running out" to purchase an M1 Garand. Does anyone know the how much longer these rifles will be available commercially? What is the estimated year that these rifles won’t be available through CMP?
Thanks
I am looking into getting an M1 Garand from a guy I met at the range. What are the things to look for when buying a used Garand from a fellow shooter? Are there any parts that should be checked for ware, or parts that may have been damaged or replaced? Also, what questions would you ask the...
Thanks for the tips Larry. When I timed myself, most of my time is spent on getting into the shooting position from standing. I will try the foot and knee tips.
Thanks, I am firing a .22. I didn't know if anyone on the forum had some helpful tips to get from standing to sitting or standing to prone and if you should stay in the sling through prep time or re sling right before firing. Everything you do cost seconds on the line.
I scored a 176 on my first Appleseed AQT! Does anyone here have any tips and or tricks to help me improve on the firing line? Is dry firing bad for the rifle?
My husband started me off on our AR-15, when I showed interest in shooting. I used the benchrest until I got comfortable with the gun. The recoil was light for me; and using the rest helped me get proper form. The ammo is expensive right and in short supply for the AR, which is why we just got a...
Similar to Deep South’s wife- I never gave much thought to shooting or owning guns. But after working overseas I decided to learn more about the guns we have in case I needed to use them. I guess liking guns and shooting is an understatement- as I have found a new sport and hobby that I LOVE...
I am new to the forum, and am still learning all the acronyms. What does SMK mean? I googled the term but nothing helpful came up. Also, was PFC Gallagher using a sling?
Thanks
