200 GR LRN -- 45 Colt (not ACP)

I have some Laser Cast bullets that I purchased in this size to use in my Springfield Loaded 1911. The .452 diameter does not work well in the 1911. Can I put these bullets to good use in my 45 COLT revolver? What would be a good load? Thanks.

How to return hammer to down position

While disassembling my Beretta 390, I accidentally allowed the hammer to come to a raised position. Now I can't slide the bolt off or get the hammer to go back down. Please let me know if you have a solution. Thanks

LRN and LRNFP -- Same Load Data?

I'd like to load some 230 gr LRN bullets for my 45 Colt revolver. I haven't seen any published data for that bullet, but there are published loads for the LRNFP. Will the LRNFP load data work just as well for LRN bullets? Thanks.

    Beretta 3901 -- Can't remove cocking handle

I'm trying to break this gun down for the first time and can't get the cocking handle to come loose. Any tips on how to handle that problem? Thanks.

    Too tight a crimp?

I recently loaded a batch of 44 sp and mags with Laser Cast bullets. I noticed that some of the bullet lube and even some of the lube peeled over the edge of the case during the seating step. Is this because of too much crimp? Or should I debur the cases (even though I'm not trimming them)...

    HD Revolver for Retired Couple

My Dad would like a handgun for HD purposes and, perhaps, to deter coyotes from killing the family dog. (He doesn't want a shotgun, despite my best advice.) He's expressed interest in the Taurus Judge because of its ability to shoot .410 shells. My personal recommendation is a Ruger GP 100...

    Ruger Blackhawk -- Space Problem

I have a Ruger Blackhawk .357 (the 50th Anniversary model). With both factory ammunition and handloads of shorter OAL, the rims of the cases sometimes cause the cylinder to become stuck. The same rounds spin through my GP100 with no problem. Is there an obvious diagnosis here? Is the action...

    Springfield 1911 - Broken Extractor

After only about 200 or so rounds, the extractor broke on my new stainless loaded. Recognizing that any part can break, do you have any thoughts about why this might have happened? How much do these parts cost? I'd rather just fix it myself than send it back to Springfield. Thanks.

    Decapping Primers and Reusing Them

If proper eye and ear protection is used to decap (with a sizing die) some poorly loaded rounds, is it OK to reuse the primers? I've never bothered to try, but I want to pull a couple dozen bullets and would prefer not to waste the primers. These are large pistol primers. Thanks.

    45 acp -- minimum oal

The guides all publish maximum OALs. I've found, though, that what actually fits in the barrel is almost always far shorter. For example, I recently loaded some 230 LRN (plated) over 4.6 grains of HP-38. The published OAL is 1.200, but most of my rounds needed to go down to about 1.15, or...

    Ammo for S&W .22

I recently picked up the S&W M&P 15 "AR" in .22 LR. I have some CCI and Winchester high velocity rounds that work well in friends' guns. Do you have any additional suggestions? I also have a few boxes of Remington Gold ammo that works nicely in my Marlin 60 and my Ruger Single Six, but I'm a...

Lead round nose in 45 ACP

I have a box of these from Laser Cast. That firm's bullets work very well in my 45 LC and 44 sp. cases, but I'm getting an unreasonable number of jams in my 45 ACP. The bullet diameter is .452. I do NOT have this problem with a box of jacketed Rainier bullets in 45 ACP; I'm not sure what the...

    "AR" in .22 LR

Have any of you shot one of these? How do they handle? Is the cost (I think about $500, based on advertisements) reasonable? Are they good practice for using the standard .223/.556? Thanks.

    Remington 11-87

Following up on a previous post, what are your thoughts on this piece as an all-purpose low recoiler? I'd shoot it as a 12 gauge with a 28-inch barrel. Mostly for clays but also for some bird shooting. Thanks.

    All-Purpose, Low Recoiler

Soliciting recommendations for a semi-auto that is good for both clays and some bird hunting. 12 gauge. I don't have a specific price cut-off, but I do pay close attention to value for money. The other factors are reliability and low recoil. Aesthetics don't matter. Thanks.

    45 LC -- Roll Crimp

I purchased some 230 g LRN Laser Cast bullets. I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a groove, or cannelure, on the bullets. So, I wasn't sure where the best place to put the crimp is. I've been putting the crimp at or just above the top "ridge" on the bullet. I've tried to make it so that...

    KVAR -- Are they home?

I've been trying for the past day to get through to their sales department, but can't get a live person on the phone. Have any of you had that problem?

    Beretta Stampede -- Shoots High

This fixed sight gun really seems to shoot high. Aiming at the 6 o'clock position at 30 or 40 feet still leaves me about 10 or 12 inches high. Should I try to adjust the front sight, or just aim lower?

    Basic question about my WASR

I don't have a manual for a Romanian AK that I picked up recently. The parts all seem to be new and in order and all that remains is a test fire. However, there is a piece on the end of the barrel with which I'm not familiar. The part is not screwed on tightly and, in fact, rotates around...

    Starline Brass

I generally like this brass. However, I'm now loading some 45 colt loads into new cases and having trouble seating my (Winchester) primers. The primers do seat, but only with more force than I should have to use. Have any of you had this experience and is there anything to be done about it...
