The McCloskeys' have a right to defend themselves and I support that. What they did may, or may not have been illegal, that will be determined later. But standing in your yard pointing guns at people walking down the street was stupid. There are better ways to handle this. They didn't make any of us look good.
We've discussed the actual action before. I don't think we want to replay that. This thread is for the legal actions at this point on. Not the tactical evaluation of their actions.
So please don't post about that. Nor screeds about the DA. Or else this will be closed!
Also, your opinion of what the law should be is nice but off point. As Frank says, we want to discuss the actual law.
Despite what I said, some folks cannot seem to stop being off topic. Thus, I'm closing this. If and when we get new legal information about the progress of this case, charges or a trial - we can revisit.
