Frankly I think that if the 2 Amendment was followed, the firearms should be legal. The 1st Amendment could possibly cover the white supremacist materials. I have not seen anything in the Constitution about drugs being legal or illegal.

Law enforcement officials broke up a white supremacist group selling guns and explosive devices to anyone who could buy them, officials announced Friday.

Authorities arrested 43 people on weapons charges, participation in a criminal organization and sale or transportation of dangerous drugs.

They seized, 32 pipe bombs, two grenades, seven sawed-off weapons, illegal and stolen firearms and meth, according to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.

Officials also seized a .50-caliber rifle that was presented to undercover agents as powerful enough to shoot down a Phoenix police helicopter.

Several of the group's members had white supremacist tattoos and decorated their rooms with Nazi symbols, officials said.

"This is a hateful group with a dangerous criminal agenda," said Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas.

All defendants are facing mandatory time in prison. Four could spend the rest of their lives there, the attorney's office said.

Sounds to me like they were up to no good. I think the case is pretty clear when it comes to pipe bombs and homemade explosives.

But having literature concerning white supremacy does not make one a criminal. Nor does having nazi flags hanging on the wall. Or being tattooed with these symbols.

The majority of society may not like it but even KKK members have a right to their opinions and be free from persecution.

I am proud of my heritage. One ancester came to Texas from Germany in the middle 1800's. However, I see no need to hate anyone else in order to be proud of that. I also see no connection whatsoever between the Nazi's and my heritage.

You are correct though. I don't like them, but they have a right to say and think what they want. In this case, they were doing a little more than talking. Even if you don't like the law, you need to follow it or suffer the consequences.

I'm proud of my heritage. That part of it is early-settler German is beside the point. My heritage is one of self-respect and self-sufficency. It might be interesting that the recent generations helped create and build Texas, but that's just part of our background: We made our own way in the world with very darned little assistance outside the family.

That other people are fools about racial issues does not require that you be bitter. White supremecists do indeed have a right to their opinions, but idiotic opinions do not merit any sort of respect: Only scorn.

That sleazoid politicians play the race card for power and money is just something else to be scorned. There is trivial difference among the leadership of groups like the KKK, The Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton claque, or the La Raza racists. It's not really about race; it's about political power and money.

What broke my heart more than anything , was seeing that Barrett with an evidence tag .

You bet I would. In this day and age its almost a crime to be a "middle aged white guy".

I am in no way shape or form bitter about anything. I, like you am proud of the fact that I have gotten where I am without assistance from the nanny state. The fact of the matter is I dont see why certain other cultures of people cant do what I have done. I have actually had converstions with black folks who say that the only reason why I have gone is far as I have is because I am white and am afforded more oppurtunities than blacks.

Tell that to all the white guys who get passed over for jobs because of affirmative action.

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever to be 'proud' o something that you have no control over.

Should I be 'proud' of being tall? Why? It's not like I actually had any control over the fact that I grew and grew to 6'5". I'm proud of my accomplishments, I have pride in what I have made myself - but the raw material one starts with at birth is a gift - and is not due to your efforts - so how can you claim 'pride' in it? (joy - thankfullness surely - but 'pride'?)

Should one be 'proud' that they have a certain color eyes or hair?

Be proud of your accomplishments and of your character - things you have control over.

Pride in a particular inhertited gene or 'ancester' - or any random bit of chance over which one had no control is immature and childish at best.

You are ultimately correct, but that doesn't mean that people of a certain race, or heritage should not be proud of what their ancestors have accomplished. As in the case of Black people, surviving slavery and overcoming a major societal disadvantage. That is definitely something to take pride in. In the case of women, overcoming a social position of ,"less than a man", to gain equal rights, also would be something to be proud of. The problem you speak of becomes an issue with other races/groups, only because some people,not me, believe that as a White male, you have not had slavery or being treated as less than equal, solely on the basis of who/what you are as an issue to contend with. You have had to deal with things that we all have to deal with such as paying bills, adequate education to provide a living, and other life issues, minus the socially inflicted ones. If you heap on top of the normal life issues that we all must face, any amount of socially instituted injustice,and come out on top, that is something to really be proud of. Pride, like Yoric stated, comes from accomplishments, not from traits intrinsic to people. White men should take pride in founding this nation, that now with all our races, has risen to the heights it has...

The scum in this article has every right to their opinion, but when that opinion comes with very hostile overtones is when the problem sets in. Hostile language leads to hostile action, or garbage in garbage out. Now the guns I see no problem with except that they were trying to sell them and are probably not licensed to deal. No telling who could get their hands on one. Same with the drugs, no problem but the unlicensed selling. I bet these guys would sell a pistol and some meth to an 18 year old as a package deal or something. Meth, as sinister as it's use can make people, is still only a substance. It is the nature of existence that supposedly ,"evil things", are actually benign until the,"just add human" factor actually makes it's use/abuse, malicious or evil:banghead: !! As a libertarian(more or less) I see no problem with firearms of any sort, or recreational drug use, but we do have age limitation on use of either that have to be followed. Give people the facts and common sense should win out eventually ...
