•••Charter arms 45 colt•••?

I think they should be available locally before too long. I just ordered my Charter Arms Mag Pug in .41 Magnum (from Bud's), which I believe was introduced at the same time as the .45 LC. I was surprised to buy mine so soon. (It'll be here tomorrow! :) )

Here's a long barreled (or not??) .45 LC version on gunbroker if you don't want to wait for the LGS:

Best wishes!

That hurts me a bit just thinking about it. :)

Me too. Luckily, the HSM company makes a "cowboy" load (for .41 Mag???) that's kind of .44 Special-ish. I've purchased some and they aren't horribly expensive. There is .41 Special ammo, too, but that's mostly for reloaders and not easy to find.

Most promising, Winchester Super X offers a 175 grain (I think) .41 Mag round that looks like it might be a real good defense load for this particular gun. More stout than the cowboy load ( and with a hollow point), but nowhere near what the heavy hitting stuff is. I bought some of this, as well. I'll try to do a range report that I can post here.

I'm very curious as to whether Charter Arms will provide any cautionary warnings with the gun as to what kind of loads to use or not use. Same with the .45 LC. I'm a fan of Buffalo Bore, and they have some .44 Special ammo that they say is too hot for Charter Arms guns (and some that isn't.)

Funny how some consider the 45 colt dead. ...
I think that lots of folks simply dismiss cartridges that are not high velocity and/or high pressure ... or that they consider no longer "current".

Actually, I have found an affinity within myself for some older, low pressure, low velocity cartridges; 9x17, .44spl,.45acp, .32WCF.

I would just love to stumble across a "reasonably"-priced SAA and/or Winchester/Marlin/Rossi? chambered in .45Colt. :)

I would like a snub in 45 Colt. Not a Taurus fan but they made an Ultralight in it for a while years ago, think I would buy one if I ever saw any of them again. Something to be said for big, heavy, and slow. The 45LC ended lots of fights back in the day.

It is solid built, not a plush finish but not a poor finish and it looks okay. I bought it to carry not to show off. I looked at the Ruger Redhawk and the smaller S/W but they were real pretty one’s and would have only sat in the safe with some other ones I have that are to nice to tarnish up from carrying but always good to show off, also they would not really fit in my front pocket. The trigger is pretty good from single action, not as good from double but okay, better overall than I expected. The grips I would like to be a little fuller but I have large hands and that is always my complaint with any of them. I have only had the 230gr HSM bear load in it. POA and POI are pretty good at 15 yards. Jumps a bit but manageable. I use a pocket holster and it will fit in my front pocket, it fills the pocket but does not protrude out of my pocket still allowing enough room that I can sit down without it gouging me. I have land in the mountains and this is something I have always wanted someone in the USA to manufacture for carrying while in the forest. As soon as they released them I ordered one hoping it would fit the bill and am happy to say it looks like it is just what I was hoping for.

Thanks. I don't own pistols in NY. However, we are planning our escape now. I have three pistols in mind when we get to where we are going. A 1911, CZ75, and revolver in 45 Colt. Unlike when I was younger, I am not that old yet, I can afford some of things that I like. So Thanks Farmer Pliers for the info. I appreciate it.
