Good to see a home invasion stopped

Fayetteville — Authorities are investigating the death of a man after a homeowner shot him after an alleged home invasion.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Fayetteville police officers responded to an unit at the Lake Shore Grand Luxury Apartments at 5508 Faith Drive in reference to a home invasion.

Investigators said three men entered the residence armed with a weapon while the occupant was home. Police said the homeowner heard the men enter the residence, armed himself and fired, shooting one of them.

Police said all three men fled the scene and drove to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where the wounded suspect died as a result of his injuries.

Detectives have the other two suspects in custody. Authorities have not yet released the names of the people involved.

Yes, good to see a homeowner ready and willing to defend himself.

But, I'm afraid the antis will just add this death to their number of "children" killed with a firearm. Completely ignoring the fact that he was committing a crime at the time.:banghead:

Its good to see that the homeowner stopped the home invasion, but sadly the perps will probably only be slapped on the wrist and see minimal prison time (if any).

I just hope the other 2 creeps learned something that night. That sometimes, it's just NOT worth it to be a thief, it's better to get a job.

I also hope that the homeowner is not victimized by the legal system. When the authorities don't release names, it means one or both of two things, minors are involved, and/or there's a way deep investigation happening.

It's my sincere hope that the GOOD GUY is found to be in the right, because he IS!!

Minimal jail time?

Doubtful. If anyone dies as a result of the comission of a felony it's a Felony Murder charge for all criminals involved - those other two will stand trial for murdering their own partner. Serves them right, too.

I think this was an irresponsible and dangerous use of deadly force...

+1 for the good guys, unfortunately the other 3 statistics will probably just start robbing houses during the day when people that can afford guns are at work, or they'll rob little old ladies on the street the next time they need crack. It's good they know that people are ready for them.
