I was dissassembling my 10/22 according to the instruction manuels directions, and the barrel band completly snapped in half! So how can i get a replacement.

I have one in stainless that you're welcome to as well. PM address and I'll mail it off.

I agree with MattD. I took the barrel band off of my 10/22 and my best groups shrunk considerably. If you still want the option of using a sling, just drill a hole on the forearm.

I think I know why it broke on you. Trying to spread it wide enough to not scar the stock as you slide it off. What I do is to loosen the screw and then slip the flat screwdriver blade between the metal down by the screw holes in the bottom of it and give the screwdriver a 90 deg turn which spreads the halves wide enough to easily slip it off, but not wide enough to break. Once the screwdriver is in place in it, it can be slipped off one handed just by holding the screwdriver and no scarring to the stock. Reassembly is a reversal of the technique.

FWIW, just in case you decide to continue using it.

throw it away, drill a hole in the forearm and screw in a uncle mikes quick detach in there.make sure its a short one-you dont want it hitting on the barrel bottom-ity will not only scratch the barrel if it makes contact but it will throw your accuracy off...so use the short one.
