i have a 10/22, and the factory 10 round mag is a pain in the butt to get out.
i have a 25 round mag and that works fine cause i can grab it, but with the factory mag being flush its tough to get a grip on it and it wont just fall out.

any tips, tricks or what not?
Pat

its not the mag release that isnt disengaging, there is too much friction in the mag well, but good idea tho thats next on my list of add ons.

and i dont think that my SGM would be too thrilled with me having long painted nails haha even if they are tactical.

I bought 2 new Ruger 10 rounders recently. I had the same problem you describe - they would hang up in the mag well and were a pain to get out while all my other mags fell free. Also I was having failures to feed with them.
I decided to strip and clean them. First thing I noticed was that the bolt which holds them together was done up VERY tight - so tight that the rotor was binding and the sides of the mags were bowed outwards, causing the mags to jam. Just loosening the bolt was enough to fix both problems.
May not be the same with your mag but it's probably worth checking.

Hope you get it sorted.

I DID IT!, invented the pull mag for the 10/22... i think.
its just the top part of a broken barrel bushing wrench, filed to fit and a ton of super glue.
now i just have to paint it.
