Hi all.

I just got a new 10/22RR for my birthday. I was at Gander Mtn. the other day when I saw it. I really liked the way it handled even with the 20" barrel. I liked the fiber optics sights and no barrel band. I really wanted it but my wife said I dint need it because I already had one just like it. I actually have the carbine model but it belonged to my dad and its older than I am, so I wanted a new one so I could set it aside and not get it tore up or have anything else happen to it. She finally gave in and she said she would get it for me for my if I went halfsies with her. You gotta love a women who will help pay for your guns.:D So we went and picked it up tonight. I cant wait to go try it out. The only thing that would make it better is adjustable sights. Id like to get the sights from a CRR and replace the ones on mine.

Here is the obligatory picture.

Nice, get at least 3 30 round steel lip mags, and and a nice scope, and your all set for small game and the range.....

Ive already got a couple of mags that i used in my other 10/22. Theyre not the steel lipped variety but once I got them broken I never had a lick of trouble out of them.

I've had mags that aren't steel lipped, and they do operate without trouble for a long time, though they don't do that indefinitely; the polymer broke down on mine due to use and they became the ultimate ingredient for jams.

I do love my 10/22, congrats on your new rifle, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Many safe hours of shooting, and many more birthdays are hoped for you from behind this keyboard.

30 rounders are fun, but i have found them to be unreliable.

Walmart has Ruger factory mags for $10. go pick up one or three.

i have 5 eagle brand 30 round clips they were 7.50 a pop (clear orange plastic though) the have performed flawlessly
even when im being silly and bump firing the thing
