Has anybody had any experience with the high cap. mags from Eagle? I need to purchase a couple and while I'm not a cheapskate, 9$ as opposed to $25 for others makes me wonder if ther're any good.

Short answer: no, they're not. One $25 mag that works is worth 10 $9 mags that don't. :)

Yes, I've tried a few Eagles. Want them?

Yes, I have one that's full of .22 ammo that I can't get out. I've tried everything short of breaking it to get them out. They are junk and never again will I buy one.

The two I own are probably twenty or so years old. They were better than the Ramlines (jamlines), but they are still terrible.
Edit: I only own one. Wife reminded me of my 11D boot and a bit of a tantrem I had years ago. The surviving one is somewhere between terrible and bad.

I had one that worked fine for a few years. eventually the feed lips broke off. I'd recommend something with steel feed lips if you want long term use.

I have two 10x mags that I can't figure out
the feed lips are trashed, I don't know how old they are, and they feed perfectly

I have one 25x that is complete junk, the day I need that slot in the 10/22 magazine organizing container, it goes to the range ... as a target. I don't know why I even still have it, except as a reminder that cheap crap is, in fact, cheap crap

All three came with my first 10/22, bought at a gun-show very used. I shouldn't complain, after I made a deal on a cash price for the gun, the old codger cheerfully stuffed a junky walmart plastic bag into my hand, containing three factory magazines (for a total of four, one was in the gun), the three Eagle mags, and 200+ rounds of CCI minimags.

Oh, and go with factory magazines first, then steel-lips, then hot-lips. The 10x factory magazines are pretty damn reliable in my guns, and the clear ones are spiffy. The only working mags that take 20 or more have been the Butler Creek steel/hot lips models, I haven't tried the new BX25 from Ruger yet.

I must have a rare incident, I have several eagles than came with a rifle that all run great. Even lost one in a field for about 6 months, found it shooting one day and it's still running fine.

Thanks fellas, I hate to waste money on junk. I'm just always lookin' for a deal ( ain't we all? ) but reliability trumps cheapness. Thanks Again!

CDNN has the Ruger 25 round mag for $19.99 this weekend with $4.95 shipping forr the total order so buy 2-3. I have two and have had no issues but I have never used Eagle.

We have six of the BX25 mags, and they work fine. You can even take them down for cleaning. I've used Steel Lips for several years with good luck, as well. The rest were, to put it mildly, less than satisfactory in all of my 10/22 guns.

jrdolall, Thanks for the heads-up on cdnn. I ordered 2. Cheapest price I've seen on these. Thanks Again!
