Will the 10/22 magazines work in the 77/22? I was going to pick up a 77/22, but wanted to make sure that the magazines for the 10/22 will fit. So, will they fit?

There are some minor differences and some claim they should not be used interchangably. FWIW I used to own a 77-22 and used them interchangeably along with the 10-22 and never had a problem. The 77-22's are flat on the botton while 10-22 mags are rounded to match the stock contours. I found it a little harder to remove the 77-22 mags when in the 10-22 because of this, but they functioned pefectly for me.

There are slight differences between the 10/22 magazine and the 77/22 magazine. The most noticeable difference is that the bottom of the 10/22 mag has a slight curve to it, while the 77/22 magazine is flat.

In my experience, a 10/22 that can tolerate a sloppy magazine fit, will not have a problem with a 77/22 magazine. A precision 10/22 will experience some jams at the very least. I have no experience fitting a 10/22 magazine in a 77/22 rifle.

Damnit, I was hoping to have a bolt and a semi with interchangeable mags. I really don't want something that may cause jams. I originally thought they were the same mag in both.

Now, the thought is should I double down on the 10/22 or get a different 22 bolt perhaps a CZ? I was looking for two things out of the bolt gun, utter reliability and when suppressed super quiet. My thought is that the bolt gun will be slightly more reliable and slightly quieter.

If I did get a bolt I might as well get something that can handle short, long, and long rifle, right?

What do you think?

I've got both and I use the mag's interchangably....with out issue....problem is tho both my .22's have a bent barrel i: one left, one right or is it one up...one down..not sure...)
