I'm going to put on a peep sight setup on my 10/22, which makes the factory rear sight not used, I could just flip it down, but i've seen a couple pictures where people have removed the rear sight and put in a filler piece that matches the round contour of the barrel, making it complete.
I believe they do this by hand, but i was wondering if anyone knows of a premade insert specifically for the 10/22, that you can just put it, and its done

thanks

I find the reg 3/8 filler to be tolerable in looks without shaping to bbl contour.
Easier to knock out later when the flat remains.

Never seen one that is pre profiled to for a particular barrel. I have filed them to fit with acceptable results. Notice I said acceptable, not, great. It takes a fair amount of skill to shape them perfect. Someone made, or makes, one that is held in by a small had screw. The lazy man's way to do it.

I lost my 1100s bolt handle yrs ago. So one day at work, took a chunk of brass and made one....all by hand. Buddy brought one from home at lunch for me to copy.

My job had me locked in a lab waiting for stuff to arrive and I wasnt allowed to take on any jobs.

So while I waited I filed.
Came out pefect. Exact copy

Went to a gunshop month or so later, got a factory bolt handle. Gunsmith wondered where i bought the pimp brass one. Told him I made it. He did not believe me LOL

I could do a filler, contoured for a bbl and bet it look great. Have used 3/8 fillers and just left em as is.

Ranger point sells contoured dovetail fillers. Personally, I prefer the Marbles fillers which aren’t contoured, as they’re easier to remove later (much), but the Ranger Point fillers are fine too.
