My father is a long time reloader, but hasn't reloaded in about 20 years. He reloaded for 10 gauge. Since we have been getting into duck and goose hunting again, he wanted to fire up the press and start developing some loads for the two 10's we use to hunt.

Dad's information is dated and I wanted to ask what types of powders, primers, hulls, wads and non-toxic shot those of you who hunt with the big gun are using. He hunts with an Ithaca Mag-10. I hunt with a Remington SP-10. He has expressed some interest in picking up ITX shot. Does anyone have experence hunting with it? How about loading and hunting with bismuth? Are there others besides steel we should look into?

I'd stay right with BP for anything related to specialty shotgun loading. Look around on the home page for loading manuals.

They'll have a loading manual, and other non toxic shot. Along with all the wads you'll need. I don't load for the big ten, so personal experience is not available.

I hope you've saved your empties. Otherwise they also have new hulls available.

Hope this helps.:D

If you know what powder and hulls, you can find reloading data at both Hodgdon/IMR and Alliant. Follow the recipes, there are few interchangeables among components, but they di exist
